Posted December 12, 200915 yr Report: Dannii Minogue to quit 'X Factor'? Saturday, December 12 2009, 01:11 GMT Diigitalspy.co.uk By Neil Wilkes, Editor Dannii Minogue is "highly likely" to quit The X Factor at the end of the current series, according to a report in The Mirror today. Citing a reliable show source, the newspaper claims that Minogue has decided to leave the show in order to move back to Australia and start a family with her boyfriend, rugby player Kris Smith. "Although it hasn't been officially confirmed, it is highly likely Dannii won't be on the panel next year and Simon is already thinking about a replacement," said the insider. The leading candidate is thought to be Mel B, who has been linked to the show on numerous occasions in the past. "He thinks Mel could be brilliant as she is outspoken, down-to-earth and won't be afraid to hold back," the source added. "There were times during the current series that he felt things were a bit boring and he is certain sparks will fly with her on board. It will also be interesting to see whether she and Cheryl Cole will gel with each other - or whether it will be handbags at dawn. He thinks it could make compulsive viewing. Louis Walsh is also a huge champion of hers and has been campaigning to get her on the show." Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland is also rumoured to be in the running for the position. If one of the judges had to leave the panel would Dannii be your first choice or not?
December 12, 200915 yr Author But... but... Dannii's our favourite X Factor judge... she can't leave! Daily Mirror.co.uk * Posted by: 3am * 11/12/09 * 11:01 pm http://www.3am.co.uk/dannii-minogue-rumour...or-judge/20336/ Noooooooooo! Nooooooooo! Nooooooooo! That's our reaction at hearing the very very strong rumour that Dannii Minogue will not be returning to The X Factor. We like her! And we fear change! We can't cope with this! That'll do for now with the exclamation marks. Let's carry on with the story instead. According to the spillers of secrets, Mel B and Kelly Rowland are both in the frame to replace Dannii, as she's planning to quit the show (of her own accord, dontcha know), move back to Australia and start a family with her boyfriend Kris. "Although it hasn't been officially confirmed, it is highly likely Dannii won't be on the panel next year and Simon is already thinking about a replacement," says an X-cellent provider of X-traordinary gossip. "He thinks Mel could be brilliant as she is outspoken, down-to-earth and won't be afraid to hold back. There were times during the current series that he felt things were a bit boring and he is certain sparks will fly with her on board. It will also be interesting to see whether she and Cheryl Cole will gel with each other - or whether it will be handbags at dawn. He thinks it could make compulsive viewing. Louis Walsh is also a huge champion of hers and has been campaigning to get her on the show." But Beyonce's old mate Kelly is very much in the frame too. "Kelly is not as big in the UK as she is in America but then neither was Piers Morgan when he went over there. She has done some TV in the US and she is a natural - plus she knows exactly what she is talking about." Yeah, so do we, but that doesn't mean we should be on TV (although we should, obvs). We'd take Mel B over Kelly. But we'd much prefer Posh, or Kylie (they wouldn't even need to change the "Ms Minogue" sign on the dressing room door) or, we dunno, Sophie Ellis Bextor or something, cos she's so pretty and nice. Just not Joss Stone, please. But really, we want Dannii. Don't go! We feel like clinging onto her leg like we used to when our parents dared to go out and leave us with the babysitter. December 12, 200915 yr I knoew we got these type of stories last year and everything of which nothing came of it but tbh if I was her i'd be quitting. She's the only judge who has any likeability left in her and poor thing, stil under the impression that its a singing competition, it stopped being that years ago dear. She's probably a bit too clever for this show now aswell. That Danyl joke in week 1 went down like a lead balloon and clearly no one seemed to get the whole 'Is this a singing competition?' thing. She had the strongest category this year aswell by far, yet she was down to 1 act by week 6. Cheryl and her lack of everything except looks next to her is considered the star of the show yet its Dannii that tops the favourite judges votes. Moving her to the end of the panel on ocassions this year was probably the final straw. I hope she quits tbh. She can stick 2 fingers to Cowell & Cole and watch as he hires something ridicolous like Mel B or Lily Allen and watches as it unfolds into disaster. Dannii is the best thing on this show and pretty much what kept me watching. Unless the replacement judge is out of this world (which Mel B certainly is not) then I wont be watching. This year especially it became clear the formula is old and done. Since about week 6 i've barely been paying attention to the Saturday night show. The thought of tonights show alone bores me. Yes so to conclude Dannii>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Everything else on that show
December 12, 200915 yr I'm not really a fan of Dannii, but getting Mel B as a replacement? Give me Dannii over Mel B any day...

Yes so to conclude Dannii>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Everything else on that show A pefect post. I could not agree more. With the X-Factor this series the Shark has been well and truly jumped, as even Simon Cowell has been quite shockingly out of touch when appraising other acts performances as he clearly seems bored with the show, compared to his enthusiasm for BGT. Cheryl is just a clothes horse propelled by the PR marketing/hype of Max Clifford; and Louis continues to be the Oirish pantomine stooge. The show is nothing more than an entertaining joke. But the real tragedy is that a very large number of impressionable people who watch the show believe the bull crap that is being spoken, and can't see the blatant manipulation/cheating that goes on within the mechanics of the show to give Simon Cowell the winner he wants.
December 12, 200915 yr For Dannii to be leave would be awful, the judging panel will have no credibility left at all then. I think Mel B would be an excellent replacement though
December 12, 200915 yr For me, this is utterly depressing but not surprising. I feel really bad for Dannii, she's such a nice judge but she get's overlooked by Louis (god knows why), Cheryl 'Nations f***ing Treasure' Cole and Simon 'The FiXer' Cowell. She hasnt seemed comfortable on the show for a while and it's not surprising given the way she is treated, but losing Dannii would be a big mistake imo, and im not sure if 'd watch next year, especially if Mel B came in :puke2:
December 12, 200915 yr I'm in two minds. I want her to leave on her own accord, rather than get sacked. But I don't want her too as she is without doubt the best judge xfactor will ever have. :( she's also the most popular judge on the net. By far!
December 12, 200915 yr I wait until I hear it from the horse's mouth, rather than reading it from the tabloids. In the back of my mind I think the press are just blowing it out of proportion to give Stacey the push to win the final tomorrow.
December 12, 200915 yr She's the only judge who is fair. Simon and Cheryl can't see past their own acts and Louis was completely deluded in thinking John and Edward had talent. Dannii always makes fair comments about the other judge's acts whereas Simon thinks they ALL (except Joe) sound awful and bangs on about how great Danyl is. Louis and Cheryl are probably the worst 'you look like a popstar' is all I've heard from them this year. But like has been stated, it isn't a singing competition anymore and I've been clapping Dannii for her sarcastic comments this year and she's one of the reasons I really want Stacey to win. Dannii is also the only judge I can tell really gets on well with her artists. Simon is constantly arguing, Cheryl seems a bit useless with everyone except Joe (I swear they're related) she was more focussed on her own performance than getting Rikki through and her crying kept Lloyd in through his worst weeks. Can't really judge Louis as most of his acts were out whilst he was away (poor, poor Miss Frank). Poor Dannii, we all love you. Like Rachel and Lucie, and probably Stacey by tonight, you're too good for this crap.
December 12, 200915 yr We heard the same rumours the same time last year, so i wont worry too much til i hear it confirmed, I do hope it is all rumours but im sure its a publicity stunt to get even more people to tune into the final this weekend. But personnely i hope its not true as i feel dannii is the only fair judge on the panel who gives constructive comments each week and basis her comments on the performance and the acts vocal abaility, she doesnt knock an act down because they are no tin her category. Also she proved how fair she was when she didnt use spite to knock one of somons acts out as he did the week before she judged fairly on performance, i think if all the judges were like dannii the x factor would be a far better show and more fair aswell.
December 12, 200915 yr If I had to choose to get rid of a judge it would be in this order for me: 1st. Louis Walsh (He really is useless, people have been spot on when they say he gives no constructive criticism at all, waste of space) 2nd. Simon Cowell (For being a sneaky game player) 3rd. Cheryl Cole (Not really bothered about Cheryl, I could have her or leave her really) 4th. Danni Minouge (I think she's the only one who takes her judges role seriously, all the others seem to be basking in the limelight of what they see as "their show" while Danni is actually getting stuck in with her acts) Edited December 12, 200915 yr by Sabrewulf238
December 12, 200915 yr Mel B? I'm sorry but that's pathetic. Charlotte Church would be a fabulous replacement. Her alongside Cheryl Cole :kink: I agree with the majority though. It's shocking when you can list Dannii Minogue as the best in something  But she really does put the time and effort in and actually seems dedicated to her acts and what she's doing. I mean, she declined the chance to promote her single on the show unlike Cole who has basically used the X Factor to become a more 'respectable' version of Kerry Katonna or Jordan. Cowell and Walsh are just pathetic anyway and have no idea what actual talent is. [They made Westlife ffs :/] There should be a musical pantomine based on The X Factor because that's all it is. I used to like it but after this year it's all about getting viewers and money by playing with people's dreams.
December 12, 200915 yr At least her going would take the last temptation to watch the next series away. She seemed fair and aware - the others just seem to take it as a judges competition with little concern for talent
December 12, 200915 yr I'm not sure if I believe this, haven't these rumours gone around every year since she joined the show? They always seem to think Simon will jump at any given opportunity to fire her. The only difference is this year she did that interview with Piers Morgan that suggested she might be interested in settling down. I'm sure she's recently saidon Twitter that she's planning on coming back next year, if they want her. I guess she could have changed her mind since then. I'm sure I've heard the Mel B and Kelly Rowland rumours before, I'd imagine they're rubbish. Mel B would be the better of the two, she's the more opinionated of the two. Kelly (and the others in Destiny's Child) is just a nicey Christian girl with nothing bad to say about anyone. What I love about that second article is "Kelly is not as big in the UK as she is in America". Actually, yes, she is. America doesn't care about Destiny's Child members, unless it's Beyoncé. She featured on a huge summer smash #1 here, while it hardly made a dent there, and has more top 10 hits here.
December 12, 200915 yr I wouldn't be surprised if she did leave. At times this series she's seemed utterly disillusioned and downright depressed by the emphasis put on entertainment over actual talent. Then again, she knows she's won the public round big-time this past year and nothing else she could do, even if it was a return to making music, would give her so many fans. It won't be Mel B or Kelly Rowland though. Those two names are bandied around every damn year and it's never true. Also I had to laugh at "Kelly is not as big in the UK as she is in America", which is total bullshit.
December 12, 200915 yr Am I the only one that thinks Louis has been the best judge this year ? He has made many a witty comment, some of his put downs have been good, I have agreed with him more than I have any other judge
December 12, 200915 yr He's barely ever constructive. Everything he says is either designed to irritate Simon or a variant on 'everywhere I go girls love you', ie. I FANCY YOU, YOUNG MALE CONTESTANT.
