Well Simon got his wish, I advise everybody to just follow another chart elsewhere in the world and stop wasting their time at this nonsense.

Hmm..this time last year Alex was 400% ahead of the number 2 on itunes, and was never less than about 50% ahead the whole week.

MUCH closer so far this year!!!.

Ignoring the "Rage Against the Machine" track, Joe is 400% ahead of GaGa.

But didn't Alex have an extra day of sales - wasn't the track released midnight on Saturday?

She references a lot of artists, but did bring a unique sound. Case closed ey...

I was comparing Alex's 00:00 - 18:00 sunday with Joe's 00:00 - 16:00 Monday. So same time period. well, minus 2 hours, but cant see Joe increasing by that much in 2 hours.

Thats interesting. So he could still be on track with Alex?

To be fair its impossible to tell with percentages. Just as an example if both Alex and Joe were to sell 100,000 copies in one day and the #2 in Alex's year was on 50,000 and the #2 in Joe's year was on 60,000 then the percentages are gonna look different. We won't know anything and won't be able to work anything out until tomorrow

I wonder though how much will the physical sell. It might increase The Climb's total sales by 35%.

Edited by I Am FM11

It's 29p on Amazon.

I'm talking about when the physical is released (re my £4 comment) as the physicals will put beyond doubt how much further Simon Cowell's The Climb is ahead.

Thats where i bought it what is the point of paying 99p on itunes for the same song when it is 29p on Amazon?

If someone's gonna campaign again for Xmas 2010, at least make it a festive Song :kink:.

I think it should be Mariah carreys, all i want for christmas. thats the only christmas song i like.

The RATM song is on the Epic label, which is part of Sony anyway, so, as was the case last year with Jeff Buckley(Sony owned the rights to that song) , Simon wins anyway.

I agree, they(Sony/Cowell) probably start these campaigns themselves.

why would cowell start a campaign against his own single :/ he doesnt own sony, sony owns him, he wont get a penny from RATM sales, you make no sense, I cant see Cowell starting the campaign himself. sony possibly.

Joe isn't going to touch the sales that Alexandra did:

- She had an extra day of downloads

- Woolies were selling her single for a low price

- Alexandra was actually a decent winner who appealed to more than old grannies

- Hallelujah was half decent

- Last years X Factor was more popular

If Joe reaches 576,000 it will be a miracle.

Although this years finale was watched by 5 million more people ;)

Sony and Simon are two different things he won't benefit at all.

Simon runs Syco which is an umbrella brand of Sony.

It is like saying the manager of Topshop is going to benefit from a spike in sales at Burtons.

also look to bjork for the outfits and crazy videos and tori amos for unique piano playing (only tori is a billion times better), that whenever i see gaga im reminded of points of either of their careers. the AMA's when gaga broke the glass to get to the piano i could see tori's talula video, when she burned her way out of a persepects box to then push her hands through another perspect box to play the piano.

im sure if you are relatively new to music (2000 onwards) gaga will probably seem original but there are so many that have come before who have experiment with outfits, that have had music videos that push the envelope and that play piano with far more life and skill.

i don't dislike gaga, i just think music is so turgid and stale right now that her 'act' is being lapped up and praised for being original only because we have been drowned in x factor, RnB and chav music that is so very comfort box.

So what?

Last years final was on a Saturday, most people go out on a Saturday night. The audience would have been the same last year if the final was on a Sunday. It cannot be denied last year was more popular.

The only time X Factor 2008 did better in the ratings was the Saturday show wasn't it?

And 19.7 million is overnight figures, I'd imagine its pushed over the 20million mark once its all finalised.

(I know these can vary as i remember seeing Doctor Who overnight figures and then a week later the final figures come through and they're usually about a million higher)

At least it looks as if Miley Cyrus won't make the top 10 with the Climb.
