I just said in the itunes thread how, even if RATM doesn't go to #1, its brought back the chart battle.

I reckon though, next year, the winner might have to settle for #2 as others are really catching up now

I guess it will be not enough but still the sales will be huge, I wish they could win this battles.
Really hope JLS can hold onto a place in the top 5 especially after their x factor performance.. Leona, Alexandras & Cheryls albums will all probably climb too..
i wanna know whats going on on thee album front..

I'll have a wild guess at Susan Boyle still being No.1 album! :naughty:

That BBC article is ridiculous. It doesnt state any facts, just assumptions. I'll wait til we see the official figures.
Those sales for Joe dont seem good at all! How much has Alexandra sold by tuesday last year?

Alexandra had 2 days sales as her single was released midnight Saturday, where as Joe only has 1 day's sales because of the Sunday night final.

Top 5 for now, while I ripped everything out, please be patient.

Indeed.

Alexandra progressed as follows:

Tuesday - 149500

Wednesday - 185400

Thursday - 289200

Friday - (unknown)

End result on Sunday - 576000

Confirmed on Radio

01 RATM 83,000

02 JOE 77,000

With a whole day's extra sales and a very popular (and aggressive) campaign, this is not surprising.

However, if 750000 people have really joined the RATM support facebook page and so far only maybe 10% have actually bought the track, that's a really poor showing.

Joe's got it in the bag - RATM has had 2 days worth of sales as well compared to Joe's 1 day + he has physicals out tomorrow.

I'd say it was an excellent showing considering most people join these kind of groups with no actual intention of doing what the group is asking you to do. 83,000 would be a stunning Tuesday midweek figure for any act, let alone a campaign of this nature. :)

If it manages to keep up the momentum it could hit 200k-250k, which is huge.
