They are selling it for 1.99 in my local Morrisons, a Joe hotspot, and they couldn't get them out quickly enough this morning!

MW updated (but they've posted this week's and last week's mids charts together, so we've got two #1'2, two #2's, etc, and only a top 20 :()

Singles Chart:-

3OH!3 up to #7, George Michael down to #11.

Albums Chart:-

Robbie #6, Leona #8.

Its a joint #1 :o Lady Gaga & Rage

I'm torn

As somebody who hates the fact that X Factor always makes Christmas number one by default, i would love RATM to make it just to p*** off Simon Cowell

However, this is the first series i've watched where i actually love the winner and really think he deserves to make it. Had it have been Alex or Leon i'd have loved them to be outsold, but i really like Joe

I might just buy them both so they equal each other out lmao

I e-mailed MW to see what was going on. I'm obviously not the only one. Here's their reply

"Sorry about this, we’ve been having a bit of trouble with the database this morning….

I just re-processed the mid-weeks, IT is currently working on deleting the faulty mid-weeks and the correct ones shall appear in due course… I will keep you informed.

Many thanks for your emails"

So watch this space!

Joe McElderry will be on sale in the supermarkets as well as the music shops won't he? I can't see how RATM can compete with that,

if it were just on downloads though they'd walk it.

Erm because they're going at about 90k+ a day?

But still they selling more than him in every site and he's no different from any other winner and he sales less than last year.

Thanks for your replies, it's all very exciting isn't it?http://www.en.kolobok.us/smiles/artists/laie/Laie_87B.gif

its still so hard and uphill, Rage needs to keep up the momentum it has to be nothing short of relentless enthusiastic buying cause their adversary had 20 million people watching that over hyping rogramme. simon just needs 3% (thats nothing its so minimal) of the viewers to buy it and he has 600k worth of sales.

if only Rage had an audience of 20 million prime time then this would be a fairer battle, plus physicals now thats a level playing field right there. what their doing right now is quite shockingly impressive :o

I think RATM have a chance though!

I feel bad for Joe. As other have said, Simon probably won't really care, Joe's X-Factor single won't necessarily sell any less because of this and the label wins either way as both singles are on Sony’s record label. The only thing Simon loses is the cachet of getting the title of Christmas No1, but in reality it’ll be Joe that loses out on that title and will be remembered as the first X-Factor winner to not get a No1 with the winning single. I wouldn’t be too bothered if a great song was released and proved more popular on its own accord, but RATM single is only a hit because of the campaign and it most likely wouldn’t even have dented the Top 100 had it just been a standard new single release.

I bet Saturday will be the biggest day for the X Factor physical.

Last Saturday before Christmas and it being the #1 stocking filler for tweenage girls and mothers everywhere

Even if Joe does lose I'm certain he'll make it to #1 next week or the first week of 2010.

id be so upset if i got a cd single for xmas, the tight arse who got it me would be getting a selection box next year.

Ladbrokes have RATM 8/11 now, ahead of Joe (evens). If anything this could be a good time to bet on the x factor, which is usually at about 1/10.
I love how I've bought the Pet Shop Boys EP today - with the first song "It Doesn't Often Snow At Christmas" - and its bloody snowing! I love CHRISTMAS!

being associated with simon cowell is quite toxic thats the problem with joe's position right now. its all about over exposed simon cowell with his high profile, being on screen, a producer and having a label. people are getting sick of him and his predictable ways (ie bland cover version for x-mas single). all his acts have his large controlling shadow over them. the public seem to either love him of hate him, no inbetween.

this campaign was bound to happen, some see x-factor/BGT as a vehicle for simon to find acts for his record label and to continuously promote syco acts, not as a genuine singing competition (danni was brave enough to question the show no doubt he wants her gone for calling him out). his self interest on the show is coming through more and more every year. its turning into just one big promotional campaign for syco acts.

I'm sorry but it's still a bad song, it's 10% of the quality "Hallelujah" had and that was p*** arse awful as well :| You really think supermarkets are going to run mad on that awful song?!
If Rage do it, it be the first Xmas #1 on downloads :magic:

Wonder if it'll fall straight out next week, from No.1 or No.2?
