the song is boring in my opinion!

and yes the nationality does mean something as it's the UK christmas #1,

could of chosen someone british to record a new xmas tune...

you're right  people should not waste their money on this awful RATM reject song from the early 90's... :puke2:

it would've been better if they bought the new George Michael or the new Pet Shop Boys Xmas songs...

at least they're Xmas songs and they are by classic British artists....

I have just downloaded RATM because I want to see Joe fans have a meltdown.
Hey - found you from a link on the (Rage) facebook group. Just wanted to say, whatever the figures from last night, it's far from over. We're Twitter trending and Google trending for the first time - we're all over most viewed on Youtube - where's all the interest in Joe?

Who's winning at the moment? Could RATM actually beat Joe?

The no1 is revealed on Sunday right? :o

7Digital reported earlier Today Joe was ahead by 11K :).

(bottom).

SAT 9.00AM: Last day of record buying begins. Joe McElderry's CD single is expected to sell well today. RATM fans have one last push. Meanwhile, overnight Tom Morello announced RATM would play a free gig in the UK if they get the Christmas number one.

SAT 11.00AM: 7Digital report that X-Factor Joe is now 11,000 sales ahead of the Rage boys. I wonder if there's a bunch of RATM fans thinking of buying last minute?

Well he was 19k ahead yesterday apparently...

The BEST thing to come from this is that Rage COULD beat Joe! Over the last five years with the other winners, was there any doubt?!

I agree, this I think is why everyone is so fed up with x factor, because it takes the fun out of trying to guess who's gonna get the coveted xmas no.1 spot!

Guys, if any of you are interested in adding 5 sales to Rage's total FOR FREE without a credit card, and you haven't already done this, DO IT:

Go here:

Click 'Download Free' under 'download Nokia music'

When downloaded, open the programme and click 'Join Nokia' and then click 'Join Nokia Music'. You need to fill out a few details (username, password and email address) but no credit card info is needed.

On the main store page, click 'Redeem PIN' then 'Continue'

You can enter any of these 4 PINs (only one though) and you get £4 free credit

WQLN-WDTM-V4J4-6GZZ

MJYM-JM2R-DWVQ-6PYG

GGP6-XC53-YYFL-PHM6

VLBV-MPBX-XDNQ-F79V

On the Store page, search for 'killing in the name' (in the song box, NOT the artist box... this search box is located at the top of the page)

5 versions of the song should show up. Click the 5 little orange boxes with the arrows on the far right of the page, then click the blue ticks that will appear next to them.

This has been 100% confirmed to work, as long as you enter only ONE PIN and buy the five tracks ONCE ONLY... 5 free counted sales. Do it if you haven't already ^_^

Thanks, I'll use it to buy Joe's single for free!

Aha, that's the thing - Joe only has ONE version, so if you buy it 5 times your sales will be disqualified for bulk buying ;o For every person who takes advantage of free Nokia 'sales' to buy Joe, someone else has done the same to buy Rage 5 times.

True, but I'll buy just one time and possibly the physical sales will make up the rest ;)

Oh dear, where to start with this one?

A "REJECT" song? Are you serious? It's one of the most well-known, critically and commercially acclaimed rock songs of the 90s! Furthermore, the fact you make reference to it being the early 90s shows just how fickle you are - I'm guessing you only think music is good if it was written yesterday by Xenomania.

Perhaps you have a point about the British artists though, that is a concievable flaw in this campaign. However, not George Michael or the Pet Shop Boys, it's not as if either of them were ever 'anti-establishment'! My vote would have gone to Iron Maiden - a British institution, over 70 million records sold worldwide, and one of the all-time great heavy-metal acts.

Does anyone think if olly or stacey had won, rage would be doing better or worse?
I think Olly and Stacy would have come out fighting and doing promo, interviews and meeting fans and shaking hands at HMV stores.Joe has been so bland, boring and timid throughout.

Funny, I'm sure thats what Joe has been doing.

And its not for them to decide anyway, their PR schedule would have been planned ages ago.

Also, anyone think that yeah this campaign has been great, but i reckon its also raised Joe's profile and sales - i don't think anyone would have thought he could possibly be dancing aroudn the 500K mark on Sunday, but looks like its a possibility

yeah I caught Joe in the paper the other day being shepherded around St Ormond's Street hospital shaking hands with babies who have no clue who he is. nice gesture and all, but since it was smeared all over the sun it just reeks of PR "I'm a nice guy, help me beat the nasty rockers!"

He was at a HMV store on Wednesday signing CD's for his Single release and doing interviews for Magazines :).

The promo schedule would be the same for who ever Won (except the locations).

Is that why it only reached #25 when it was originally released?

Also, I don't see what would have been so bad about piggybacking whatever was going to be #2 anyway (Bad Romance, Strastrukk?) and doing a campaign with that song because it would have given a head start of about 60-70k to begin with.

and then you will delete his single forever, because he's so awfulllllllll and will be dropped in few years' time :D

Have you been living under a rock? Did you not see him at HMV South Shields? Or all the radio and tv interviews he has done? I've seen many on the telly and radio!
