Owl City - Fireflies N.1 for sure

Doesn't sound a very January-like #1 to me.

I have a feeling it'll be a massive #2 hit...

It's out on the same week as Iyaz - Replay.

More bloody urban $h!te, by the sound of it.

Maybe that's why it's released at the end of February then?

considering how January is so strong for dance, i'll say Sidney Simon - Riverside

I'm thinking this will be our January dance #2, like Kid Kudi last year and H 'Two' O the year before.

'Riverside' and 'Replay' are both going to be MAJOR though, the fact that people I know have been mentioning them always symbolises this.

I reckon Wiley will be the first new #1 of 2010 (its growing on me alot recently)

Following week will be Riverside I think. If the label are smart and make available the clean edit, dirty version AND the original version then it all should count together and it wouldnt surprise me if there were multiple entries in the Itunes top 20 (similar how Day N' Night was earlier in the year). Does Iyaz have a video yet? I could see it climbing to #1 actually.

Fireflies and Telephone are big potential #1s in February i think, though i dont think there are that many big contenders in late January are there? Girls Can't Catch, Justin Bieber, Marina and Example will be big but im not convinced any will the top spot but who knows?

Iyaz has a video, fairly standard R'n'B stuff... It's a good enough song, but I'd prefer Sid to be #1.

Marina and Example could challenge for #1 I suppose but I reckon Hollywood will either be really massive like La Roux's IFTK, or middling but leng lasting like Florence's RH(RIU). Example will probably be lucky to go top 3, but given enough promo it could challenge for #1... I doubt either will beat Justin B though :(

Agreed about Marina, could go either way, think the album will do well though. I think Sid will do it personally but could be a good battle.

I'm curious why people think Justin Bieber will do it though, doesnt strike me as a #1 at all, top 5 maybe but its not gonna be massive is it? Or am i missing something

I really cant see alexandra or cheryl having a number one with their singles, i think joe will sell well into january.

I would love Wiley - Take That to be #1, but Riverside, Replay and One Time will be big contenders. I just can't choose who i want, arrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!

It don't matter cos it'll probably be Alexandra or Cheryl who will get it, i'm almost 100% certain.

It certainly ain't growing on me and its irritating as hell, but I can see where the fascination is coming from. I would prefer something new to come out but it feels 2010 is a continuation of 2009 with new acts from the urban genre. Urban is really not my scene.

Iyaz is not that bad actually, I can handle that.

I think Wiley's new song is basically a 2009 part 2, but it's developing the general British urban formula a little... might just be because Chew Fu produced it. He's the same guy who did the remix of LoveGame with Marilyn Manson ;o

I honestly cannot see Wiley getting number 1. Number 2 maybe. It'll be the 'Day N' Nite' of 2010 imo.

I personally think Sidney Samson (As much as I don't like the song on the radio, night outs though it's AMAZING!) or even Girls Can't Catch (VERY slim chance at that though...) will be the first new number 1 of 2010... But looking at the release schedule, nothing to me particularly screams obvious number 1... I'd also like The Sats to get their first number 1, but they're not doing promo the week of release, so they're fucked pretty much :(

Something good would be nice..that I may remember in 5 years time  2009 has officialy been the year of hyped up artists..*COUGH* Dizzee Rascal *COUGH*
Hopefully GaGa & Beyonce with Telephone :)

The release date for this in the UK is 22nd February 2010. I think the sheer power of having two of the biggest stars in the world and easily the biggest of 2009 (Lady GaGa) will send it to number one in February. I have a feeling this will be bigger than Bad Romance. It could be the Poker Face of 2010!! I mean it charted at number 30 based on downloads of the album version alone - that is massive. Go GaGa!!

Sidney Sampson. Easily. It's been one of the biggest club/bar hits for the past 6 months similar to Day 'N Nite. Pretty sure that will be the first new #1 of 2010.
One questionnnnn? Will 2010 be the start or end of a decade?
