Owl City – Fireflies

I'm sure Owl City will be added to iTunes well before 22/02/10 and can see the song going straight to no. 1 on download sales. At the moment, I can only see two potential no. 1 hits in the next eight weeks.

Yeah. I think Owl City should be added earlier than 22nd of Feb. I can see them pushing the release forward (because of fake versions, etc.).

Iyaz - Replay

Owl City - Fireflies

Timbaland feat. Katy Perry – If We Ever Meet Again

Lady GaGa feat. Beyoncé - Telephone

I'd like to see Honorebel, Sub Focus or Deadmau5 at number one but it's not gonna happen, I hope they reach at least top 40. I hope that Sidney Samson will be no. 1 this week, Replay is good but Riverside is much better.

Iyaz- Replay

Girls Can't Catch- Echo

Owl City- Fireflies

Sugababes- Wear My Kiss

Lady Gaga- Telephone

Christina Aguilera's new album is released in March. :yahoo: :cheer: So I think the single would be released in mid-February and could be number one easily. I missed her and her music so much.

Next week will be Iyaz or Sidney Samson, probably top 10 for Justin Bieber

There may be a chart battle between JLS and Owl City on 22nd February- I will definately be hoping its OC

Also Jason Derulo, N-Dubz top 10

Would love that to happen! 'Papillion' should have been #1 for months!

Oooh I hope Lemar and Toni do well in their respective weeks.

But looking at that set of releases, there's no standout number 1 hit, well there are songs I want to do well, but I doubt they'll be as big as I want/hope them to be!

The biggest chart will be between Fireflies and Marina & The Diamonds both have potential to be #1

I reckon

Iyaz

Marina & The Diamonds

Owl City (If released early)

Fireflies (on downloads) if released early

Marina & The Diamonds

As much as I like 'Hollywood' I don't think it'll get to no. 1 - then again, it depends on how fast IYAZ's sales tail off over the next four weeks. Marina could sneak a week in around late January but I'm not fully convined it'll achieve that.

I can't see JLS and Sugababes making #1 to be honest, both acts are releasing a third track from their albums, plus a million JLS fans have already got the album. I can't see One Shot doing any better.

if Hollywood and Fireflies were released on the same week digitally (which I don't think will happen), Owl City would absolutely trounce Marina I think

something will come out of nowhere anyway, I really can't see us starting the year with two consecutive 4 weekers at the top having come out of a year with over 30 #1's!

The only way JLS could get to no. 1 is if they were release a new single version different to the album version. That way it might help the song sell more. Once the video goes into circulation, it'll shoot up iTunes. All songs do once video airplay kicks in.

As for Sugababes, I think they didn't do themselves any favours by releasing 'Get Sexy'. 'About A Girl' was the better song and was lucky to get to no. 8 in the UK. Their new single would have to be excellent (as in 'Push The Button' or 'About You Now' quality) to even give them a shot at top 5. I think Sugababes is over - they've become a bit of a joke since Keisha left.

2008 started with two 5 weeks no. 1 hits; Basshunter (coming to a UK top 75 soon!!!! ) and Duffy. I think IYAZ and Owl City could both have a decent run at no. 1 providing they have strong sales in the first two weeks. So when the sales tail off it's still selling enough to outsell the new releases.

Hollywood going to #1 is wishful thinking IMHO, Mowgli's Road couldn't manage a Top 200 position, albeit it didn't have Radio 1 support last November

While it's probably the most deserving of all the releases, I think a Top 40 peak is more likely, maybe a shot at Top 20 if it has a decent release week
