I dont think DWTGTBN would have magically saved the era though had it been released instead of Sanctuary or even Save The Lies for that matter. It was a brilliant track but was equal to Save The Lies's brilliance and still would have landed at #33 (or wherever STL charted)

My previous contribution to this thread labeled this track as 'AMAZING'. I can officially confirm that my position on this track has altered slightly, and it has been marginally promoted to 'AMAZING.'. That is all.

I'm not saying that DWGTB would have saved the era, but I'm sure it would have persuaded more people to buy the album than the average Sanctuary...

Bit gutted they only broadcasted On A Mission, but that should help it's iTunes position.

I hope and prey Gabriella is long shot of Crown before they get desperate and start drafting anyone in to replace Sugababes members without thinking what they'd sound like in the 3 part harmony, on the classics or the bands credibility.

Not necessarily - we only say it kills careers because of the fact we've sent washed up has-beens for the past twenty years having last hurrahs at a living as a musician. If she won with On A Mission I would bet my bottom dollar that it would be #1 the week after!

'My Man' most certainly wouldn't have flopped the way it did and she wouldn't have been dropped imo. It did amazingly to do as well as it did considering, A- Radio 1 didn't playlist it, B- Promotion for the song was cancelled for that week.

 

'Punching Out' would have been a big Top 10 hit, ala 'Remedy', had she released it as the follow-up imo. She would have ended up getting support from Radio 1 and had there been a promo blitz, that would have certainly helped her out.

She was on Geffen. Who released her to Island/Sugababes at the request of Universal to cut their losses in the Punching Out project

I don't think Jade would have done that well in all honesty...even with full promo I don't think My Man would have done any better than Echo or something similar...

 

I definitely don't think Punching Out would have gone top ten or got Radio 1 support, it doesn't feel like the sort of song they'd playlist sadly :( I long for the day we send a contemporary relevant chart song a la Gina G to Eurovision again which becomes a massive selling single because it's a great song with mass appeal, rather than appearing in the top 40 for a token week or two by default for being our entry...
