March 2, 201015 yr There's a 128k rip leaked out there too - giving it my first full listen now. I couldn't get the Guardian widget to load. Doubt I'll keep the album for too long though, not really my thing - although the De La Soul / Gruff Rhys collaboration is great. I have a 320k rip that I got around the time you posted that, but it was on a private torrent site that often gets things early.
March 6, 201015 yr Author Really like this album, it's far better than I was expecting it to be! 'Rhinestons Eyes' is a Gorillaz classic already, other favourites of mine are 'On Melancholy Hill', 'Glitter Freeze' and 'Pirate Jet'. 'Stylo' has grown on me massively, too. March 8, 201015 yr I have held off any leaks (aside from Stylo) until buying the album. On first listen it is more accessible than I was expecting (I was fearing a Radiohead-esque level of inaccessibility!) and Rhinestone Eyes, Superfast Jellyfish and Empire Ants are classic Gorillaz. I can hear a bit of Lemon Jelly in some of the tracks, which is not a bad thing at all. An expected grower overall.
March 9, 201015 yr After third(?) listen, I think it is a grower, I found it overall meh first time, starting to appreciate it far more now.
March 10, 201015 yr Loving White Flag, Superfast Jellyfish, On Melancholy Hill and still think Stylo is a belter of a record. The rest I can pretty much do without.
March 10, 201015 yr I've only just received my copy of this album (the only place I could find the deluxe version was online)... so just listening to it now...and I like it - a lot. I'm a little confused with Stylo, though..... I LOVE this track - but is it/will it be an actual single? I've had a promo of it for ages so I thought it would get a full release - so what are they playing at with it? I think Stylo could've been a massive hit, but they've messed it up now, I think.
March 10, 201015 yr Some Kind of Nature is probably my favourite track off the album. It reminds me somewhat of something from Moby's 'Play' album, plus Lou Reed is a genius. The album doesn't really have a stand out single a la Clint Eastwood, Feel Good Inc, but it's a pretty solid album.

I think it is officially the first single...it was released on iTunes a couple of weeks ago (obviously before the album), has been A listed on Radio 1 and there is a video out for it. Doesn't look like it'll be getting a physical release though. I think the general public just aren't overly keen on it, it's not as commercial as previous Gorillaz hits like 'Dare' or 'Clint Eastwood'. Mind you, it has been climbing a lot on iTunes over the last few days, so I guess it could still be a hit...
March 11, 201015 yr Love Empire Ants. The rest of what i've heard is alright, probably needs a few more listens.
March 11, 201015 yr I'm fairly sure Stylo has been disqualified from the chart. Same here. I wonder why? :(
March 12, 201015 yr Same here. I wonder why? :( I don't think they let any genuinely good songs into the Top 40 anymore.
March 15, 201015 yr I don't think they let any genuinely good songs into the Top 40 anymore. If that's the case, then Gorillaz are f***ed :(
March 15, 201015 yr Best album of the year. Superfast Jellyfish just effortlessly infectous. On Melancholy Hill is just EPIC
March 15, 201015 yr I don't think they let any genuinely good songs into the Top 40 anymore. Or there's a rath against animated bands entering the charts. :(
March 15, 201015 yr Best album of the year. Superfast Jellyfish just effortlessly infectous. On Melancholy Hill is just EPIC  Those 2 should do miles better than Stylo did. I can see Melancholy Hill going top 5. It's AMAZING!! Superfast Jellyfish's chorus is epic! The verses are good, but nothing special...great song though. The whole album is solid as f***, should be a million seller. Edited March 15, 201015 yr by Attitude
