They can't find Haïti on a map? And then? Does it prevent them from having compassion for the people we see dying on TV news every hour? I don't get your point at all.

And now what's your problem with Cheryl? You already pick on her vocal ability while we still have to hear the single. And still, it's a f***ing CHARITY single, could people stop their bashing for a while. People are dying in Haïti, and here you get people acting like boiled children critising the single choice or the artists taking part in it. This is disgusting.

I agree with you Bert but we're on a chart forum, people seemingly only care about chart positions, egos and the #1...

Maybe I'm shallow, but when I first saw on the news about Simon Cowell organising a charity record, my instant thought was, ITMA.

Charity records are a nice idea though.

There are other ways to donate, which goes without saying.

If someone like Bob Geldof was doing a charity single, I'd have probably paid more attention to the news article.

I can't ever imagine being in their situation, of finding my home demolished and ending up on the street, that's scary!

I dont see the harm in a charity single, people criticise it but WHO CARES IF IT IS SAVING PEOPLE'S LIVES?!

Priorities really need to be sorted in people's lives!!

I hope it hits a million sales.

So glad leona is in it, such a powerful voice :)

Loads of massive names, i'm guessing just UK/Ireland release..

Wow Silas - You really do make this place sparkle  :cheer:

Well said!

Thanks guys!

The more people that get added to this, the less i want to hear it. It's either gonna turn out well or be a disaster. Given it has N Dubz and Cheryl Cole on it, i'm going for the latter.

As long as it raises a $h!t load of cash i don't care what it sounds like. I ain't buying it anyway, i'll donate the cash elsewhere.

I will probably just buy it for Haiti Relief. This money better not go into Simon Cowell's bank balance. I know this for a good cause but anything associated with Simon Cowell I just can't get excited about. Where's Alexandra Burke, I'm just surprised Simon has left her out. Hope the cover is good. But I KNOW the cover will just be cringewrothy Simon-esque style.
Alex is in Germany at the moment doing a Europan promtional tour for Bad Boys which is where she should stay as it is at No 20 on itunes but she is coming back on Monday to record her part.

Can't wait to hear this.. hope Simon Cowell doesn't charge a ridiculous price for the CD..

more people will buy if it's £1.99 or £2.99 :)

I'm hearing that GaGa & Bey are confirmed.

Does anyone know if there's any truth in it?

This is getting posted on a few forums but I can't find the source for it:

It was announced Simon Cowell & The Sun had joined forces once again to release a charity single in aid of Haiti.

The song is will be a cover of REM's 1993 single "Everybody Hurts".

So far confirmed artists are Leona Lewis, JLS, Michael Bublé, Rod Stewart, George Michael, Paul McCartney, Take That and Robbie Williams.

Well it has now been confirmed that Beyoncé, Susan Boyle, Lady GaGa and Wyclef Jean will also take part in the song.

The project is being referred to as a Band Aid 4.0.

This was posted in the Sun today....

SUPERSTAR Mariah Carey last night joined the stellar line-up for The Sun's Haiti charity single - as our earthquake disaster appeal topped the £1million mark.

Grammy award-winning singer Mariah, 39, agreed to take part in our cover version of REM's ballad Everybody Hurts in a project being masterminded by X Factor chief Simon Cowell.

Disney star Miley Cyrus, 17, also signed up over the weekend as X Factor stars JLS and show judge Cheryl Cole kicked off recording in London.

Cowell, 50, last night paid tribute to all the artists taking part, saying: "We're getting there. We have had an incredible amount of support. "It's amazing these great singers are clearing their schedules to make this happen. I just found out Mariah has changed her schedule to be able to do this too.

"It says such a lot that everyone is working so hard to help Haiti.

"This is something that really matters to us all and I'm so grateful for the support we are getting."

A source close to Cowell added: "Mariah was brilliant, she wanted to help in any way she could. Her name gives the single another great boost.

Susan Boyle"Simon is working so hard behind the scenes to get this together. He knows this needs to happen quickly to get the money through to Haiti."

Cheryl, 26, said after recording her vocals: "It's heartbreaking to see what is happening in Haiti. Hopefully the money from Everybody Hurts will help the people of Haiti rebuild their lives."

JLS member Oritse Williams, 23, who lost relatives in the quake, said: "This tragedy is very close to my heart.

"We hope to raise as much money as possible. It's great to be working with such talented artists, all pulling together to make a difference through song."

Leona Lewis, 24, added her vocals in Los Angeles last night as Cowell faced a race against time to get the single out.

Take That and Rod Stewart, 65, are also due in the LA studio today, Alexandra Burke, 21, is set to record in London and Susan Boyle, 48, will add her contribution in Scotland.

James Morrison, 25, Mika, 26, and James Blunt, 36, are also among the stars taking part, while others are still trying to make arrangements.

Top producer Steve Robson is putting the track together using new technology that means the artists do not have to be in the studio together.

PM Gordon Brown has agreed to waive VAT on the single, and all proceeds will be split between The Sun's Helping Haiti fund and the official Disasters Emergency Committee appeal. Donations by the Sugababes, ex-Spice Girl Geri Halliwell and Aussie singer Holly Valance helped take The Sun's fund past £1 million. Geri called on Sun readers to do whatever they can, adding: "Every little bit we can do to help will make a difference and ease the suffering."
