October 31, 200915 yr The sleeves thing is pretty clever. Way to go with your debut album! EIL is such a grower. I really like it now... however, the lyrics are cheesier than ever.
November 6, 200915 yr Sorry guys this album is horrific and that is putting it nicely: The first album for X Factor runners up JLS is set to be released on Monday on the back of what will be two number one singles come Sunday. Here is my review. Beat Again – Their first number one single is a great track. I think it was the perfect single to introduce JLS to the market. It was also a relief they never went down a Westlife route. It was a shame after they won two MOBO awards based on this track that they could not even do a live performance. Everybody In Love – The JR produced track is on its way to the top of the UK chart this week. Although I think the song is kind of bland, I can understand why young girls would eat this up as it is very catchy. Keep Her – Probably the best on the album outside of the two singles. However, I am just left wondering is this the best it can get. This track is a complete rip off of Taio Cruz. Crazy For You – The first proper ballad on the album and it is a stinker. I’ve heard this all before and it doesn’t impress me in the slightest, even the vocals are poor. Heal This Heartbreak – The beat on this track is an improvement on the previous two. However, I am once again left completely bored. Honestly, material like this just cannot make it in a tough market. Close To You – Yawn yet another run of the mill ballad. This track would honestly not be out of place on an Aaron Carter album from ten years ago. This almost put me to sleep and almost made me want to stop listening to the rest of the album. Only Tonight – At least this track does not put you to sleep. However, it is yet more run of the mill bland rnb. I’m honestly struggling to find anything positive to say at this stage. There are so many other artists out there who are releasing similar material to this. However, that material is better and vocals are also better. One Shot – This track is an improvement and vocals have improved. That being said, there were better tracks on the Taio Cruz album I reviewed the other week, so if I can get better music from him, the question remains why would anyone waste their time buying this for reasons other than their image. Private – The production here is better. The track is also slightly catchy. However, it is nothing that I want to hear again. At this stage, I am annoyed an album with this much tripe was able to be released. Don’t Go – Yet another Taio Cruz rip off. I think JLS got a hold of his album and just decided to imitate his entire album here. The vocals are once again unimpressive and all the tracks so far have just blended into one. Only Making Love – It honestly sounds like a ten year wrote and sang this track, which in turn makes it kind of perverse. I am literally struggling to get through this tripe. Kickstart – I like this track which may be surprising. However, it is as close to the first two singles that they are going to get. Great little up-tempo number, which I can imagine having a great dance routine. Vocals let it down. Tightrope – Yet another dreary ballad which is of course a terrible way to end the album. The last note from Aston is the best vocal you get on this album. At this stage, I don’t have anything left to say as I am so utterly disappointed in this album. Singles: Beat Again Everybody in Love Kick-start Keep Her I’m not the biggest JLS fan. However, they did show passion and growth on the X Factor and I found their first two singles catch. Therefore, I gave the album a chance only to be so disappointed that I have gave up completely on JLS. Perhaps the fact that this is their first album can be used as a slight excuse but when you have debuts from people like Lady Gaga released this year and redefining pop, JLS just fail in comparison. Also, compared to boy bands of the past this attempt is utterly pathetic, for any long term success for the band they are going to have to do better than this tripe. http://ratedrworld.blogspot.com
November 7, 200915 yr I feel so sinful, i like this album. Heal This Heartbreak is f***ing amazing. *prays for redemption*
November 7, 200915 yr I found it a bit underwhelming apart from the two singles.....but i must admit i got bored halfway and went back to the Leona album
November 9, 200915 yr I'm actually quite impressed with the album :o I'm not their biggest fan, but it's a pretty solid album. Nothing amazing by any stretch of the imagination, but it's a good foundation to work on. May even buy it! :o
December 22, 200915 yr This album defines grower. Seriously. People should look past the fact it's JLS and it's actually a really decent debut. OK, it doesn't deserve as much success as it is getting, however, it's still a brilliant album. Loving it quite a bit at the moment actually. Oh and 'One Shot' is quite clearly the best on the album! :smoke:
January 1, 201015 yr Yeh it really is a grower.. at first I listened to it and thought it was okay.. but now I love it and nearly every track One shot is amazing.. so glad its going to be the 3rd single
January 21, 201015 yr Crazy for you has to be released. there is to be no more singles from the album i believe - think they said so on radio 1 few weeks ago.
January 21, 201015 yr I agree about Crazy for you.. but One Shot is the last single :( I think their duet with Lemar should be released in between their new album & One Shot.. or will be a long wait until the next single/album
January 22, 201015 yr Not unless we have a single in the summer like Beat Again The album is due in Nov... but they could just repeat what they did last year and have a release in July, 2nd single in Nov and then album out week after.
January 23, 201015 yr Just obviously mimed on So You Think You Can Dance :( Shame, I was looking forward to this performance.
January 27, 201015 yr good lad, ive been looking for a link for this album since i heard his joint off the bk-one album, cant get enough of this song at the mo
