Michelle Keegan is hugely over rated in my opinion, she is far to shouty and loud even when doing emotional scenes, there are far better and under used characters on the show so they may now get to shine now she is leaving as she has been kept at the forefront of the show for too long now.

I really like Tina. Very relatable character without being dull (a la Maria). Dislike Tommy though.

This Eileen and Paul relationship is a truly dire storylines, its ruining the show for me. Eileen just works so much better alone and as a comedy character.

Couldn't agree more Pippa! Truly awful storyline from its (rather distasteful to say the least) beginnings and time has done nothing to improve it. It MAY help if the bloke who plays Paul was a better actor - and I can't really take Eileen seriously unless she's doing 'funny'. For me the character works best with Steve, Lloyd, Jason and Gail. Her only successful personal relationships on the show that have worked - have been when they've been with actors / characters known for being comedic themselves (I'm thinking Sean Hughes and that chubby bloke who was in Cold Feet). Those storylines weren't that great - but they were a massive improvement on this Paul / Eileen saga!

I'm also getting a bit sick of the Chesney/Katie storyline too if I'm honest. While the kid who plays Chesney was good in his early appearances (probably because he WAS cute) he's just developed into quite a dreadful actor AND he doesn't look cute anymore! I really couldn't give a stuff whether Stella keeps the Rovers or not - I hope Owen ends up with the pub!

I've not been watching religiously lately - for since Kirsty left - I've felt a bit deflated by the show. However I'm still looking forward to the development of the Roy/Sylvia relationship, the aftermath of the Tina/Surrogate storyline (despite the fact that I can't stand Gary - another character who started off on the Street quite brilliantly but has just turned into another Manc Gorilla), and the scheming Tracey/Rob ripping of Carla in a scam. I know Kate Ford isn't one of the world's best actresses (and that's being generous) but she makes the character of Tracey incredibly watchable and funny.

Tracey is hit and miss in my books. Her storylines are always the same, she goes round and round in circles, scheming and lying the whole time, but she does come out with some great lines. I am glad someone else shares the same opinion about Eileen and Paul and also about Eileen as a character, i just cant wait until Paul leaves and Eileen gets over the heartbreak and returns to normal the way we like and enjoy her.

I also agree about Chesney and Katie, boring and i find them extremely hard to relate to in that i don't really care if they get back together or not. I do like Stella and i look forward to when she finds the truth out and Karl gets exposed, and likewise Sylvia and Roy should be great as i love the character of Sylvia.

I do wonder how they will explain Ken's absence until his trial is over, last week Kevin was mentioned quiet a bit although it took them a few weeks to build up the ocurage to mention him properly, i expect the same will happen with Ken.

I like Liz but she isnt iconic for me, many fans class her a huge character where i always think she is nothing more than a cheap slapper.

It's pretty much been confirmed that

Hayley Cropper

dies as there's scenes airing next week where

she is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer

:(

Just read on digital spy, best news I've heard this year for Corrie,

Ryan

is leaving and last scenes air end of summer.

Fantastic news, awful actor and awful character, good riddance! Just got to get rid of Gary, Lloyd and Sean then that would be great

I can tell this Hayley cancer storyline is going to be very emotional, I felt really sad seeing her tell Sylvia she had cancer. :( Seems all the soaps have been having gatherings recently since there is similar storylines going on in Emmerdale and Hollyoaks!

At least the cancer storylines are more believable than turning at least 1 character into killers but it is getting boring that similar things are happening at the same time like the addiction to pain killers another example but my killers list is this;

We've got Karl in Corrie, Cameron in Emmerdale, god knows how many in Hollyoaks, all we need know is for Dot to turn into a serial killer and start culling the deadwood for a complete set!!

I think a lot of writers just don't have any imagination but its interesting in a way to see the quality of the stories in each soap and I believe Corrie will do a brilliant job with the Hayley/Roy storyline as she is an iconic character, it won't be the same without her as they do the comedy/drama mix better than most of the characters on the street!

Hayley seems to be getting the Alma exit storyline!!

Not just one person from each town in the world dies from Cancer you know?

Annoys me when people always say soaps rehash stories, theres only so many ways to die

I'm dreading Hayley's exit, I love her :(

As for Ryan leaving, he was nice to look at, but only about 2 weeks ago he was saying he's excited to work with Beverley Callard?

I refer to Alma as in the quickness of the illness. Soaps seems to always do that, i know more than 1 person from every town dies from cancer and we all know the increasing deaths from cancer but not everyone dies quickly so in terms of that view point it is the same as Alma's exit.
I've heard a rumour that Hayley dies on Christmas Eve. Roy will be devastated. :( Hope he doesn't go sleepwalking again.

What does anyone think of all this fuss over the fireman's use of the saying "play the white man"? It is racist really but I've used it as my parents did. My wife and daughter have never even heard of it before! I think this leads to him goinmg out as the row with Lloyd escalates.

It's daft to say it I think but then again you can't say anything anymore without it being referenced. It definitely leads to his exit, where did you hear about Hayley Xmas Eve?
