February 9, 201016 yr Must be 250k Mikey as they state its outselling the rest of the top 20 combined - it wouldn't be able to do that with 150k sales.
February 9, 201016 yr Simon Cowell's charity single for Haiti is on course to achieve one of the biggest first-week sales this century, with around 250,000 copies sold of Everybody Hurts in just two days. That's more like the figure I was expecting.
February 9, 201016 yr I'm gonna guess it's David Balls at Digital Spy who is getting it wrong. He can never get anything right. Also surely the quickest single to pass a million was Will Young? He sold 1.1 million in its first chart week. And if we're talking about actual days taken then didn't Candle in the Wind do it in like 3 days?
February 9, 201016 yr If it is indeed 250k, then its looking like shifting upwards of 600k this week :o Range 600,000-725,000 depending on the mix of physicals and downloads (I've assumed 150,000 downloads and 100,000 physicals based on assumption 100k downloads shifted on Sunday alone).

February 9, 201016 yr Imagine if they had performed it on X Factor! That would impossible and messy. Some artists would have to mime though, e.g. Cheryl and her stunning voice.

They need to edit it to say biggest of the decade, which it is. Will Young was last decade.
February 9, 201016 yr They need to edit it to say biggest of the decade, which it is. Will Young was last decade. As always Cowell will have it as a record somehow. Some sources seem to be confusing facts with hype. According to Sky news it's the fastest selling single this century.
February 9, 201016 yr Its stating one of the NOT the biggest. It'll certainly be up there so its correct. To be honest, i feel thats a bit underwhemling - i was kinda thinking it might do 300,000 by this point
