February 10, 201016 yr Radio 1 really need a good clearout. Some of the stuff still on that A-List should have gone weeks back. Shame tbh about Gabriella & Lemar, I suppose Gabriella could still get added at a push next week. Amy I can sort of understand though, she's clearly someone will suffer from the sophomore slump and the new singles isnt really all that....
February 10, 201016 yr Radio 1 seems to only add tracks to the higher playlists that are doing well on itunes from being played on other stations. The music they play is all very samey & aimed at the teen downloader. Although I think it unfair I can see why they don't play the likes of Will, Lemar and are now holding back from giving huge support to Leona. At least Lemar & Leona still have the support of the huge commercial stations like Capital & radio 2 are great supporters of Will & Leona. However without the combined support of the big commercials & radio 1 it is very difficult to have single success.

That's one of the most stupid things I've read in ages. 'Screwed her over' just because her latest single isn't on Radio 1's A-list? You're kidding, surely? Why should Radio 1 A-list every one of her songs? The amount of promo she's had every time she's released a single is crazy - they always get played by most radio stations, she gets to perform on many primetime tv shows, and she's been back on X Factor to perform on the live shows every year since she won the show (what a coincidence) - not to mention that winning X Factor gained her instant fame in the first place. Just because she's 'Leona Lewis Off X Factor' doesn't mean she has a divine right to have more promo for her songs than anyone else. And anyway, Radio 1 isn't everything in terms of promo. I Got You is being played on Radio 2 and many other commercial stations, and Leona has already performed it on a primetime saturday night tv show. When you look at the lack of promo that hard-working bands like Kasabian and Muse get when they release their singles compared to someone like Leona, your comments that Leona 'deserves so much more' and has been 'screwed over' just seem even more ridiculous than they already are. February 10, 201016 yr Still surprised that Radio 1 isn't playlisting Amy Macdonald, considering her lastest single, IMHO, is her most radio-friendly and mainstream to date. But I can see the single still being a hit across continental Europe, which where highly receptive of her singles during her last album's era. Thankfully she does have Radio 2 support, but that really doesn't get much exposure to sell a single.

Echo climbed back up to 55 this week but you;re right Spirit is a little higher (53) but then its on sale at a lower price and includes more hits

Who said anything about her being screwed over just because she wasn't A-List? I meant more in general/this era overall. Not because this isn't A-List... Also it was just my opinion about her "deserving so much more with this release." (Which I did say in my original comment btw.) IMO 'I Got You' should be Top 10 for a couple of weeks at least, and I was more commenting on the fact it will probably struggle to get top 10 now, especially seeing Radio 1 not back it. (Any song not backed properly by Radio 1 is destined to flop, although not all the time). But everything has been handled poorly this era for her. Her video STILL hasn't premiered and it's due for release in just under 2 weeks! But it shouldn't matter when it premieres now in the download age I suppose. But there's still no denying she has been screwed over for this particular release. Ah well it's all for another topic (in the Leona forum). Sorry if anything of my posts were unclear.
