GIRLS Aloud babe Kimberley Walsh is to front the new series of The Xtra Factor, a The X Factor spin-off show.

The 28-year-old has been pencilled in to replace former host Holly Willoughby, 29, on The X Factor spin-off show.

It will re-unite Bradford-born beauty, Kimberley Walsh, with bandmate and judge Cheryl Cole, 26, reports the Daily Star Sunday.

A show source revealed: “It’s not 100 per cent yet but it’s looking more and more likely to happen. Kim’s been on The X Factor before, helping Cheryl at the ‘Judges’ houses’ stage and Simon Cowell thought she was great.”

From OK! Magazine.

Guys the rumours are rife, after a series of gigs (Lets Dance for Sport Relief Judge, BAFTA Red Carpet and Switch) is Kimberley going to replace Holly?? What do you think? Good or Bad? Too close to Cheryl to present this??

I really hope this is true, I would love to see her present this.

me 2 i love her! give her a real chance to shine

Well Holly is not coming back, so SOMEONE will be replacing her.

I think Kim could do it, but I think she's too close to Cheryl to be honest

thats the only thing isnt it! it would be the perfect gig for kimba if it wasnt for cheryl being a judge!

YAY!! This'll be great for her, as she's not had as much as the others (bar Nicola) during the break. :)
Also, what happens with Girls Aloud perform again? Is she going to interview herself?
Well this is interesting. Poor Kimba does seem to just to be hanging around waiting for the others to finish their solo things recently so at least it'll give her something to do. I've always imagined Kimberley could either to West End musicals or TV presenting so this comes as no suprise.

Now we just need Corrie to give Sarah a part for a while, and that's our autumn fixed (assuming Nadine has an album out!).

I've just remembered that she was 'presenting' on the final of X Factor last year, where all the people in either Joe or Olly's hometowns where! Hopefully they were impressed! :P

Yes Aidan and she was also in the judges houses the year before with cheryl

NOOOOOOO! :snif: HOLLY WAS THE PERFECT HOST FOR THAT SHOW! I'm gutted she's left/leaving

But Kimberly I dunno. I love her to bits and she deffo has the best "presenting" skills going on personality and looks from the band, but something from her previous presenting slots were kinda weird for me. I think that might just be because she wasn't comfortable and it was her first time attempting them or whatever, so hopefully she'll do well!

Yeah, to be honest she's as good as presenting as Cheryl is singing.

As a neutral my thoughts are these:

Kimberley has been rather good doing bits and pieces at presenting as she has always came across as natural and genuine, so it is not a question of her not being good enough.

The biggest negative is the fact that Cheryl is a judge on the show which would impact on her neutrality. Indeed Kimberley was part of the judging panel of the 2008 Music Means Life: Talent of the North East contest where 2009 X-Factor winner Joe McElderry finished 3rd; (Incidentally, 2010 Alan Titchmarsh's People's Crooner winner Jason Isaacs finished 2nd & 2010 Your Country Needs You loser Karen Harding finished 1st).

However it is Simon Cowell's show (i.e. not the BBC) so neutrality and fairplay go out the window, and Simon can do and appoint whom the hell he wants. So she'd be a perfect appointment for Simon to get her to influence the public towards liking for the ones he wants to win and against the ones he does not.
