I can read tbh. It's just if you send a link to a person it'd not really be anonymous is it?

edit: Yep, question answered :D

Sorry Pavel. I thought you might've missed it/I misunderstood your question. Now I'm going to SCOOT right on out of here, Indie is not a place I belong.

Sorry... just joking at the timing of your comment in relation to mine...

I have a feeling all songs i will put in my CD will already be known by at least half of people participating here. Haha! :(

dont choose obvious songs then. be obscure.

hey i'd love to do this. i'm all up for hearing new music. i'm not really sure how to create a zip file but i'll look it up and learn cos i love this idea :)

I don't know what is obscure or not at all within this forum regulars to be honest! It feels like everybody knows every possible band out there. Of course it's not true but it just feels so. LOL. I could list 40 songs in one minute that nobody from UK Chart Chat posters ever heard of however, that's easy :heehee:

All you need to do is put your howvever many tracks into a folder (say on your desktop) then if you right click the folder and hovver over 'Send To' choose the option 'Compressed (Zip) File'.

ahh cheers much easier than i thought it would be :)

I'd be interested in this, and before i get moaned at, my music taste is a lot more than my BJ activity would suggest. The only reason i do BJSC is to discover new music which is the main reason i am interested in this. I can't guarantee my CD will be 20 discoveries for the recipient, but i can guarantee Female Popmusic would be kept to a minimum.

well it doesnt have to be uber obscure, its just about introducing someone to new music they havent heard before, just veer away from chart songs and more popular indie type things (like bloc party, floruence etc), i doubt most people have heard say, a really good Knife album track that you could include, or some great remixes, think outside the box a bit.

I would be quite interested in receiving a CD, but I'd hate to be the unfortunate person who receives one off me. (my taste isn't obscure at all; they'd be let down.) So I don't know. D:

Well, for me, half the fun was not knowing whether I would like the CD I received or not - I got one from Hitstastic that was not to my taste at all but it was still just as fun to listen to in a way (sorry Hits but you know I was the last person that was suited to it :D - where as I'd have loved your Fused one, I got one full of pop/rap stuff if you remember).

It's not really even against female popmusic haha, I feel like a Lady Gaga b-side / demo would be perfect for a CD like this. I'm just saying, let's try to stay away from like Call the Shots / Umbrella / etcetc.

Looks like a bunch of people are interested. <3 Way more than I really expected, haha. I'll start an official thread sometime within the next few days. And for those worried about time, don't worry, I plan on making this as chill as possible. Like a month to create CDs / a month to listen and review. Maybe two swaps per year would be appropriate?

And don't worry about not being 'obscure' enough or anything; I'm not trying to make this super harsh and unknown haha. Maybe just try to stay away from obvious singles? Top 10 hits, you know. I'd love a CD from you Aaron, judging by my voting history with you in the BJSC.

And like Dandy said, even getting a CD that isn't to your taste is fun. I got one full of dad rock hits from the 90's, but hey, it was new music. And I remember asking a few people to send me their CDs after reading some rates, that's totally acceptable and encouraged.

If i was to include anything from a mainstream pop act it'd most likely be something like this. A Sugababes b-side from 2004, and very un-Sugababes like.

Tbh, i would have thought Umberella/On A Mission/Crazy Possessive/Flux type tracks would be counter intuitive as most people on this forum know them.

I echo what others have said - nearly all of the CD's I received through the CHC ones largely didn't appeal to me whatsoever but I discovered at least 3 great songs on each which made it worthwhile - my all time favourite discovery from one of them being Vaporous by Elsiane - stunning song, one of my favourites/most played songs of the last few years in fact
tbh i dont mind recieving one not of my taste, but i dont want a typical buzzjack taste cd.

I'll be a yes then. :D

Brilliant to see this continuing here. It was always one of ChC's "highlights" so great stuff.
