April 12, 201015 yr I've also already started thinking about how I'm going to approach my new CD Swap compilation. ^_^ There's a couple of ideas I'm going to try out and see what works/what doesn't. I'm wondering whether to do a theme or just assemble random pieces of (old & new) non chart bits of music together.
April 12, 201015 yr Woo! Got a little list in my head at the moment about what I'm going to include, but like Rich I'm gonna attempt to try and make it flow, similar to the now albums, just all on one CD instead or whatever :heehee: Need to try and think of other songs that are personal to me for whatever reason. But I will almost definately, aim to use songs that not many people would have heard of etc...
April 12, 201015 yr Ooh I'm going to think about starting mine now. It's so tempting to do a whole album of album tracks/b-side/remixes of a certain artist, but I'll try to resist, it's just hard to pick one mood/style of hers. ;( I don't think I'll set a theme but, being me, it might naturally end up favouring a particular genre. I'm not sure if it's part of the retagging thing, but people might need to change their file names of songs too? It's alright removing them in iTunes, but not if the song is still saved as C:\Users\Name\Beverley Knight - Shoulda Woulda Coulda.mp3 or something.
April 12, 201015 yr I'm gonna try and get my playlist done tomorrow, provided my Computer issues are fixed.
April 12, 201015 yr I'm sooo up for this! Wanting the guide up on how to de-tag tracks simply though, before I get it all donee.
April 13, 201015 yr All I do to de-tag is burn the playlist to a CD then rip it back blank. There's probably something easier/quicker but it's always worked...
April 13, 201015 yr All I do to de-tag is burn the playlist to a CD then rip it back blank. There's probably something easier/quicker but it's always worked... Same, until my iTunes buggered up and I can only burn onto CD/RW's now...and I'm not sure I have any at the moment...

That is what this late 30 something luddite is going to do. I have tonight put aside to assemble a shortlist of interesting tracks for some poor unfortunate. :D
April 13, 201015 yr I've picked a couple of tracks and managed to shortlist it to 12, but I'm really unsure on my selection.
April 21, 201015 yr I just wanted to say that it might be better to leave this unpinned as it's really more popular 'down there'. :o I'm finishing my CD btw, should be amazing :D
April 21, 201015 yr Yeah, I'm thinking of putting mine together. I'm now kinda sold on there being a vague theme. Unfortunately the theme means I'm a bit limited on how far I can branch out, in terms of genres. I hope it's not too much of a problem? I can always scrap it, it's just I noticed a loose theme was naturally forming and I thought I'd concentrate on it.
April 21, 201015 yr Author You can literally do whatever you want on your CD haha, no restrictions. I'll try to put together a tutorial on how to get rid of tags this weekend. In general though, the easiest way to do it is to burn your playlist to a CD and then using the tracks from that and zip them uppp. They'll lose all their tags once they're burned.

Haha, ok, it's gonna be so obvious to whoever gets my CD. Bad luck guys.
April 21, 201015 yr All I do to de-tag is burn the playlist to a CD then rip it back blank. There's probably something easier/quicker but it's always worked... Nah. This is the easiest way that I know of. And it's 100% fool proof. There are some ways where you think you've removed the info but it's still there somewhere.
April 21, 201015 yr I've nearly got my tracklist complete. At the moment I'm in the process of ordering the tracks I've already chosen so that it flows fairly well. Will try and add a couple more over the next couple of days then it should be completed.
April 21, 201015 yr I haven't even started on mine. I will do but I have no idea whether to go obscure or obvious. Part of me thinks going obscure here may end up being disappointingly obvious. If you see what I mean.

If you see what I mean. I know exactly what you mean. I've loaded up a shortlist of just 69 songs (lasting 4.1 Hours long). I know this is meant to be random but I think because my record collection (over 1,100 albums) is so large, I'd almost rather know whom I'm producing the compilation for so I could tailor it towards their musical tastes. (a la like a Secret Santa or Q Magazines old "like this, try this" concept with album reviews).
