Usher being back at no.1, for a third time is nothing short of remarkable. That second version is really helping.

Huge consistency and staying power. Reminds me of Pass Out.

Thanks guys! I hope Umbrella Beach can still be a hit but I have a feeling Vanilla Twilight would have performed better.

Well, on a personal level, I prefer Umbrella Beach as a song. But Vanilla Twilight was getting quite popular, popular enough that some of my friends learnt to play it on the piano! I think it could've been a good single, but I like Umbrella Beach more, so I won't complain. :D

Yeah, and Meet Me Halfway. It climbed to #1 on iTunes on 12th November, but it was still at #2 on 29th December.

And don't get me started on I Gotta Feeling!

Some songs have incredible staying power. It's like Poker Face. Is there anybody who doesn't have that song?

Me, Gaga is overrated

I agree. I like her newer songs (Telephone, Chillin', Bad Romance, Alejandro, Videophone), but her older ones (Just Dance, Paparazzi, Poker Face) were just so generic. I can't believe that Poker Face has almost sold 1 million.

LOL. Think what you like about GaGa and her music, but generic? Really? 'Telephone' is most definitely the most generic sounding song she has put out so far imo...
Hope to see Pendulum carry on climbing. Watercolour is THE BEST drum 'n' bass song ever, even better than Pass Out. Such a tune.

Looks like there might be three new entries to the top 10 next week. Fyfe Dangerfield and Aggros Santos are at 13 and 14 respectively.

Really?!

Ehhh I guess you're allowed to think that, I just don't agree.

Yeah. I remember back in later 2008/early 2009, I thought Just Dance and Poker Face were the same song.

Telephone (and Bad Romance) are also pretty much the same song as Just Dance and Poker Face. They're electropop songs in the minor key. Lady Gaga has had 4 worldwide smashes with Just Dance clones, and she knows very well that if she makes a few more in her next album, they'll go to #1 all over the world too. I'll give to her though, Paparazzi, Alejandro and Lovegame, as well as a lot of the album track songs sound different, but can she ever make a different song that can be so successful?

That said, I do like Telephone, for many reasons. Firstly, it features Beyonce, who contributes a lot to the song in my opinion. Secondly, the song has the best bridge of any of Lady Gaga's songs. Also, Telephone has a much better structure than Just Dance and Poker Face, so I find it more exciting to listen to, whilst with Poker Face especially, I get bored after about 30 seconds (not to mention I don't like the sampling in it). Lastly, Telephone has the best video, in my opinion.

But I can see why people find Telephone generic. Without Beyonce, and the video, I don't think it would've been so successful.

I agree, not only that but it's easily their worst single to date too. It's so limp and watered down Pendulum by numbers. I love their first two albums but this is a major step down, it'll only do well because of how high their profile now is.

bad romance is gagas best single release imo. Followed by poker face and paparazzi.

all her releases have been catchy and there hasnt really been a weak release yet!

shes had an amazing start to her career.
