I do like this, but I've decided that there are a few better songs on the last album that I prefer - "I Kissed A Girl", "Hot N Cold", "Waking Up In Vegas", "One Of The Boys", "Self Inflicted" & "Thinking Of You" are all better IMO

Amazing cover! :o Gah. 3 great covers in one day

Cannot wait for the video, and I agree with those who say Snoop adds nothing. Snoop is well overrated.

I really hope this does well. ^_^ It's pretty early to predict but I think top ten is more or less certain, its just where about in the top ten really.

 LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!

EDIT: Its been bugging me all day what song i think it sounds like and i've just remembered, Britney - Trouble :D

This is amazing  It's being hyped up as this year's I Gotta Feeling (sucsess wise)

Im not sure. I cant help but feel just a tad dissapointed that it isnt quite as brilliant as Hot N Cold was but it's a decent enough effort - im not sure if i'd say its good enough to stop her suffering a bit from 2nd album syndrome though.

I think its a grower though - I really started prefering it more towards the end. And I look forward to hearing a Snop-less version. He's more of an irritation than anything.

Not heard anything from Jark. I don't think he likes it  Which is a bit weird as I thought he'd love it haha.
I lurrv this, but I can't help but feel how POINTLESS it was adding Snoop Dogg onto it. He's an aging figure in music, and he's hardly going to make her sexy, danceable song better, so it was a silly idea inviting him along imo, and he ruins the chorus with his quiet "rapping" noises. :( But overrall; YAY for Katy! She's back!

I've heard better but it's pretty awesome ^_^ Like others have said all 4 of her last singles plus recent collabs and one or two albie tracks are better.

That is all until the official version leaks.

The finished version has already been released.

It has? I must've read the wrong page then :heehee:

I've just heard this played this morning on Radio 2's Jonathan Ross show.

I love it. Immediate, catchy = a monster 2010 summer anthem.

Musically a cross between Ke$ha's Tick Tock meets Britney Spears' Trouble but somehow better than both songs.

The only downside being Snoop Dogg's rap which is not needed and adds nothing to the track IMHO.

I don't see how people will think this will flop.

It's not amazing, but it is extremely summery and Katy Perry has had some big hits whilst she's been away. That's a v.good sign.

Oh ans Snoop. You're all right, he doesn't add much to the song BUT he makes it cooler, and gives the song a bit of swaaaaaaag.

Despite seeing comparisons with "TiK ToK," from the first hearing I like it :) , and I think it can only grow on me as well. A nice summery hit and it could also be a club smash as well. I asbolutely adore the cover as well! Totally shows Katy Perry's underrated beauty!
Yeah I don't mind Snoop being on it at all. And Jon, I do love it! It took two listens and now I'm all over it like anthrax.

I am enjoying this more than I thought I would, after the "Tik Tok" comparisons. I really can't stand "Tik Tok" but I like this, it's better, but so is Katy. I don't think it's as good as any of her post-"I Kissed A Girl" singles, but it sounds catchy as heck. The funky twang does it for me.

Snoop Dogg doesn't exactly add a great deal, but he doesn't detract from the song either, it'd only be an instrumental bit in that section anyway. It doesn't need or rely on him but he's a nice addition.

has anyone heard the mash up? :heehee:

I don't really get the Snoop complaints. He's not really overrated because he's hardly regarded as a rap staple, and hasn't been for a long time. I think his inclusion makes the song a little more breezy, which I think was their aim.

Anyway, it's a really strong, summery pop song. I've never been interested in Katy as an artist before, so I think this is my favorite track of her by default.
