Wasn't there reports or something saying Brandon didn't want to take a break, it was the rest of the band or something about they needed a break from each other, not that he wanted to make a solo project and try something new. He's been in the studio with Stuart Price again, so it was always going to be lite-Killers :lol:

 

But yeah, I'll wait to save my full judgement for when my CD pops through the post :D (Haven't even listened to clips yet, but I'm very tempted to youtube 'Only The Young' :kink:)

Yes, he was writing for The Killers and was not wanting to go solo. I think it will be Killers-esque clearly but with a bit of progression.

I expected this album to have a Killers type sound after hearing 'Crossfire'. I doubt it'll be dissapointed. :P

Yeah. I ALWAYS order from HMV as they always seem to get new releases to you on the Sat before the release date.

09 'Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas' [Not half as bad as the title suggested it would be. Great opening track!]

08.5 'Only The Young' [Love this track too. I feel it's more of a grower though, but it's easy to see why it's the early "an favourite" or whatever]

09 'Hard Enough' [Who's the female vocalist on the chorus? She has a gorgeous voice & if Kylie was going to perform one of these tracks with Brandon for promo or whatever, i'd imagine it'd be this one. It's beautiful.]

09.5 'Jilted Lovers & Broken Hearts' ['Spaceman' part 2?! :wub: It's brilliant, not quite as good as 'Spaceman', but still amazing.]

07 'Playing With Fire' [Not a fan of this song upon first listen. Maybe a grower, but I doubt it...]

08 'Was It Something I Said?' [Nice, quirky little number. Really like it.]

07.5 'Magdalena' [it's alright. Need another listen though, as I'm halfway through 'Crossfire' and I forgot how it goes haha]

10 'Crossfire' [Well, we all know this amazing song. :P]

08 'On The Floor' [This song seems shorter than what it actually is. It's odd. :lol: One of the more haunting tracks from the album.]

08.5 'Swallow It' [Love this song. WOO for double meanings & perverted minds! LOLOL!]

 

Overall: This album is pretty much how I expected it. A bit of progression, artistically, on the 'Day & Age' album. It's very Lite-Killers and people should not be disappointed if that's what they expected. Although there's no other 10 on the album, there does seem to be a few growers. The first four in particular are pretty great. 'Was It Something I Said?' has potential too. But yeah. LOVE this album :wub:

But this is probably my favourite album of this year so far. (Well probably 2nd, behind Jason Derulo :P)

I have to wait until tomorrow, I have no way of knowing if my Deluxe has dispatched either :(

They had a big poster of Brandon, were playing the album and had loads of copies at the very front of the store :D

Mine arrived today and I'm listening to it (the deluxe edition) atm. Into the bonus tracks now. Overall, it's a good mix of Killers-esque songs and something different. The bonus track so far (I'm listening to the second one now) seem to be particularly different.

i find it hard to not be biased here, since it is Brandon. I had the same problem with Aphrodite by Kylie. Here is my honest thoughts after one listen.

 

 

10: Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas - Fantastic opener, my favourite on the album.

08: Only The Young - Not as good as WTFLV but still very enjoyable.

09: Hard Enough - Really Beautiful track, Jenny Lewis has a great voice.

09: Jilted Lovers & Broken Hearts - Great chorus, wonderful song.

10: Playing With Fire - Simply stunning song, i love it.

08: Was It Something I Said? - Kinda messy but it works, i like it.

10: Magdalena - Very upbeat and a bit camp. Last bit is amazing.

10: Crossfire - Song of 2010. Enough said.

08: On The Floor - Love the gospel sound to this.

07: Swallow It - Not a great close to the standard album, still okay. A grower

08: The Clock Was Tickin' - Great Speaking-singing thing going on, then it slows down halfway and its nice hearing Country Brandon

09: Jaksonville - Really like this one, should be a main album track.

07: I Came Here To Get Over You - Too short, it is wonderful though.

10: Right Behind You - Best of the bonuses and great way to end the Deluxe album.

07: On The Floor 2.0 - Not as good as the original but still not bad.

 

Call me a total loon if you want, I don't give a monkeys arse. This is a truely outstanding album and real contender for my favourite of the year. Aphrodite had one more

10 than this did. There is clearly some Killers-esque songs but also a few new sounds to it.

It's ok to be biased, I'd expect you to give all songs a 10 :P I'm surprised you have my favourite songs an 8!

well, people are giving my favourites 7's :lol: Shows that we all have different taste.

Sounds like a grower album (rather than expecting to "like" on the first listen). I'll try listen again tomorrow or in few days time.
