Damn it, here i am studying for a freaking MATHEMATICIAN and it slipped from my mind

:heehee: it's not very often you get maths wrong :o

But it's often something completely passes by me, not only on the internet but in real life.. it's pretty embarassing sometimes  The only consolation to me is that i mutiplied 48 and 18 in my mind :(
864 actually. but close :kink:

I don't remember if Jonjo gave Lenka a 12 but if so my 18 points are doomed. :(

I can confirm, Lenka did NOT get my 12! (Mine went to Suzie McNeil - which is one of my favourite discoveries :P. Lenka recieved 8, behind Suzie & Pixie) So, you're in the running. Also, looking back at my voting history, Lenka was the last time I gave Eledan points! :o Can that change?

So you voted for all of the top 3 that month :o I don't think I've ever done that before! I loved that top 3, mainly because I can be satisfied that I 'discovered' Pixie, almost a year before her #1 single with that very song  But also because the Lenka and Suzie McNeil songs were both fantastic too. Robyn's Dream On in 4th rounded off a perfect top 4, can't remember who came 5th...

Actually Quotosibb came 5th in that contest :P Deandria came fourth with Ladytron 'Destroy Everything You Touch'. But that contest, my 4 top marks (12, 10, 8 & 7) all finished Top 5 so I really cannot complain with that Top 5. It's my favourite contest for discoveries personally.
Ooh and considering you did say you liked this song this might indeed change. 18 points, nothing less please! <3

Oh yeah, that song was ok but not one of my favourites, amazing top five otherwise though

Elëdan will be voting tomorrow in the (our) evening! The second voting tour has finished. We have the new leader! But overall it's still the song from the top of the voting tour number one! It's getting hotter, 3 new songs were in the voting today. Tomorrow the third tour will take place after which the results will be summed and the votes will be sent to Hendinia! :cheer: (I didn't want this post to sound overdramatic lolz)
But at the end of the day, we're judging the songs here, not videos. I know videos can enhance songs, but I feel that the songs that don't have videos would be at a disadvantage, and that's just not fair. I also have the videos on the background like gooddelta, so that i'm not influenced positively or negatively by them, and then I can remain neutral with my judging.

I know that though. I'm not giving an exclusive rate/judge/point giving based solely on the videos. And the songs with no music video is hardly at any disadvantage with my system - as I just rate them (song + video) higher, but when it comes to actually giving the points, I might watch the video one more time, if any, but I'm just listening to the songs in the end of my assesement, without the music videos.

And as said before, if I am unsure about two songs, then I might have to go down to the 'music video category' to evaluate which will get the higher point. It's not much, and quite rare. Usually I base most of my pointages on the song in itself..

All I'm saying is that music videos deserves some respect/deserves to be watched and appreciated.. etc..

I don't believe it is, it's just an extra.

You don't believe that a music video is part of a song? If a music video can enchance or degrade your experience of a song to whatever extent, then of course it is a part of it?

The fact that alot of songs don't have videos and that it's mostly the highly supported artists that get videos means to me that it's not the video that matters at all.

The fact that a lot of songs doesn't have a video doesn't prove anything. They could still matter (positively or negatively) when created to a spesific song, at least to an extent if amazingly good/bad/weird/ etc. They affect us, and influences how we look at the different elements of the song - hence it matters. And it's not just the highly supported artists that get videos. This is probably just money related + promo for the artist. And even as a promo music video it has a valuable function and still matters..

You can have the most beautiful video ever but if the song sounds like dirge it's no good.

If the song is dire, then the song is dire. But if you listen to that dire song for the first time, with the most beautiful music video ever... It seems better!/it's actually better! (if not much, then a little bit better ^_^ )

I can honestly say that song videos don't effect me in the slightest.

I don't believe that.

Music videos were invented because some guy was too bored of just listening to music  The main goal for creating music videos imo is to promote songs on TV and internet (the former being the main media source nowadays).

Why mock music videos as an act of boredom :( But yeah you're right.. promotion is probably their main purpose :)

no...

I think it's for the best! To completely exclude the possibility of somebody voting via it, I reckon there will be some person to say 'omg i didn't know we got only 2 weeks to vote' :kink: Imo, it's better to not vote at all than to vote via recap.

For the sake of BJSC:Best Of recaps are quite useful however!

You're the only one person that even remembered about recap vid  traditions are changing :drama:

Anyways, VOTED. Take out your glasses, it's gonna be reading time next sunday(?). :kink:

I wish we was onto the banlist already. It's odd how I had trouble thinking about songs to ban last couple of contests, but now 4 or 5 have come along (shame we can only vote for 3! :drama:)

Hopefully all bases can be covered through some tactical voting :kink: I know what you mean though, it's a good time for great songs leaking at the moment!

Le Encouragement du Progrès

The Good Natured returns to the BJSC for her third time having flopped in XIV and come second in XXII with 'Your Body Is A Machine' with the latter to be released as a single 5th July. How will she fair in XXVI? Will it be a case of third time lucky or will she return to her old ways? We'll find out Sunday!

Your Body Is a Machine

Fortune Teller

Been through the entries twice now. The standard is very high.

It's really impressive how many outstanding tunes are amoung the entries.

From the first listen to the second the best gainers for me have been the foreign language entries and those a bit different and the biggest falls the commercial records especially those with commercial videos.
