I went to buy Diana's single with my friend (Who isn't a fan) and she said that it sounds so much like once. Later, My brother (who also isn't a Diana fan) just asked me what I bought at HMV today and I showed him Diana's single and because he works in Asda he says its frequently played but he thinks it sounds exactly the same as Once and my mam agreed and she likes Diana.

Thats the problem with TBWML tbh which is a shame as its a great song. She should've released a ballad secondly and then released this. :\

I wondered how long it'd be before people started saying they should've gone for something else. It was the one which everyone was hailing as the standout track at the beginning and rejoicing that they made the right choice when it was announced. People can be a bit fickle with these things sometimes, it's almost like the record companies can't win.

I'm not entirely convinced anything else would've done better if this couldn't, it's a hell of a strong track and I'm just not sure she's really connecting with the public that well, as much as I adore her.

Personally, I think this is a great second single; but I've heard many people comment that its too similar to Once and I think if a ballad or slower song had been released; TBWML could have done better as a 3rd single. Look at Ellie Goulding and Marina, They opted for a second single which was different compared to their first and its worked for them. I just think to gain a wider audience she needed to bring out something different compared to Once now I look at it.

I think it's a great second single, and I know for a fact I wanted it for a second single. Yeah it's underperforming.. But since when did that even matter? She's selling records, and having fun. The fans love her. What's the issue?

I think Diana needs to release a ballad for the next single- TBWML is clearly a strong track, but I guess shes just not universally loved- for all her fans, there are people who cant stand her, also, it does sound similar to Once and hasnt had a huge amount of promotion, which were always going to count against her

Hopefully for the third single (I think I already said this earlier) she will pick something different, get a crucial XF performance slot and it could (just could) put her back in the light

#35 in the midweeks, I think we can accept it's an official flop now. :(

I hope it's boosted the album even more than last week though, that's the only silver lining that can come of this now.

*edit - and so it has, her album is up 23 places to #19.

Ya its better than once but at the same time i think they sound very similar in many ways and that maybe why it issnt doing that well, on the bright side the album is benefiting so hopefully it can gain sales for a few weeks as its needed.
I'm glad the UK public aren't taking to this as much as I am. I've always thought of it as a weaker 'Once' tbh and am gutted they didn't go with half the album (in particular 'You'll Never Get To Heaven') over it. BUT, I didn't expect it to sell the album as much as it is doing :o So that's a positive. The ballad release ('Four Leaf Clover') will sell the album even more and this will eventually sell 200k-300k by the end of the year I think. 4th single for YNGTH PLEASE! I'm still not bored of that track

I think 'Notice' 3rd and 'You'll Never Get To Heaven' 4th would make THE perfect era, even though she's pretty much screwed after this I reckon. :(

This isn't too bad. Obviously a #35 after a #1 is rather gutting, but if it's selling the album then surely that's what matters?

Oh I'd definitely prefer 'Notice' over 'Four Leaf Clover', it's my second favourite on the album behind YNGTH. But seeing as the third single has already been chosen, I'm not going to get into a fit about it as FLC is my second favourite ballad on the album :P

^^^ It hasn't been revealed that 4LC is the single though..

I thought it had been confirmed?

EDIT: My apologies. It was only rumoured. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's true...

Haha not confirmed yet :P I don't think it will be because we already got an acoustic version on the Once cd. She's off to LA soon to shoot the video though, I really think it'll be YNGTH.
Lets hope teh third single does reasonably well whatever it is and also boosts the album again, the album will struggle to get 150,000 i think which is a huge shame.

The album has already sold over 100,000 copies, and was at #19 during todays midweeks. I don't think it has anything to worry about really.

I've just listened to TBWML for the first time in weeks and I just love the chorus!!!

Ok so it's underperformed but it's still the song on the album that screams hit even though it wasn't one. It's a mystery why it hasn't performed well.

No interesting video? Lack of major promotion? Too similar to 'Once' despite being far better imo? Lack of airplay?

I'm not sure but this is without a doubt 2010's 'I Do Not Hook Up'. That song's underperformance is also a mystery too.

Where was it said that she's shooting the next video in LA? :o I hope it's a ballad with a really controversial video!

She needs an XF performance to get really healthy album sales.

weirdly I always thought the reason why IDNHU didn't perform well was because it was too similar to MLWSWY but unlike TBWML it was inferior.

could have been worse and followed the steps of little boots' 'earthquake' - real potential hit, fair bit of promotion, yet missing the top 75.

with the remix climbing as well, I'm sure this will reach top 30 by the end of the week. even though that's not necessarily good enough as it should be doing.

Now that the album has been reduced to £3.95 on iTunes this could affect any additional single sales as people will go for the album instead
