apart from Edward Maya and Inna, I fail to recall any other european hits making waves in the UK this year...

it's still preferable to none whatsoever. This time last year had we even had one, or was Agnes the first? Plus that was a big European hit (apart from Sweden and maybe one or two other countries) after it was a hit in the UK. I meant that it was nice to see songs that have already smashed Europe wide making it over here as a direct result of that, even if it is only two at the moment

Although I shouldn't forget about Alexander Rybak who came a week before Agnes I think. It was pretty special for me seeing Alexander top ten one week and then Agnes the next

There are plenty of them - the UK is part of Europe.

Yeah, I suppose, but what Dre said. There's lots of awesome songs in other European countries which a lot of people here never get to listen to. It's a bit of a shame. :(

And while we're at it, Stereo Love is up to #32. It appears it's not eligible to chart yet. I was wondering, will these sales be included in the sales of Stereo Love, after it comes out? Hopefully Stereo Love will do so well that it won't matter anyway.

I really wonder if we will have any Eurovision hits on iTunes this year, if I remember right Fairytale went top 300 quite a few days before the contest. I hope that Lena Meyer-Landrut from Germany can smash it, and also Niamh Kavanagh

I have a terrible gut feeling that a lot of them will be made 'album only' on iTunes and won't be able to be bought :( It happened in 2008 with a lot of songs. Luckily last year, Alexander, Yohanna and a few of the other big hitters had separate 'singles' up on iTunes iirc even though on the compilation I think they were download only. I haven't noticed too many of them up on iTunes so far - I've seen Niamh, Sieneke, Anna Bergendahl, Ovi/Paula, Didrik Solli-Tangen and a couple of others, but definitely no Lena :(

I think if Lena wins she may go top 10 like Alexander

If they add her to iTunes - if not, it will be impossible for people to download it and I'll send a strongly worded complaint to their headquarters :heehee: anyway, I resurrected a bit from iTunes last year when the ESC songs were all at their peak approximately 18 hours after the contest ended;

3) Alexander Rybak - Fairytale (Norway)

15) Jade Ewen - It's My Time (& #247) (UK)

32) Yohanna - Is It True (Iceland)

74) Alex Swings Oscar Sings! - Miss Kiss Kiss Bang (Germany)

85) Urban Symphony - Randajad (Estonia)

86) AySel & Arash - Always (Azerbaijan)

87) Hadise - Dum Tek Tek (Turkey)

89) Malena Ernman - La Voix (Sweden)

105) Waldo's People - Lose Control (Finland)

121) Anush & Inga - Jan-Jan (Armenia)

122) Flor-de-lis - Todas As Ruas Do Amor (Portugal)

128) Svetlana Loboda - Be My Valentine (Anti-Crisis Girl) (Ukraine)

146) Brinck - Believe Again (Denmark)

174) Sakis Rouvas - This Is Our Night (Greece)

218) Nelly Ciobanu - Hora Din Moldova (Dancing Moldova) (Moldova)

226) Anastasia Prikhodko - Mamo (Russia)

16/25 finalists managed to reach the iTunes top 300!!! Estonia being the most surprising I think, since when did Estonian ethno-folk appeal to the British downloaders :heehee: Of those already available on iTunes this year, I can definitely see Didrik, Anna and Niamh at the very least all selling enough to go top 200, assuming the latter two reach the final. I love that even Yohanna managed to score an official top 50 hit  I do hope that people get on board with the ESC songs again this year!

That 'Why Don't You Love Me' song by Beyonce is at #195. :o

In the UK, probably a promo single. Probably depends on how well it does Stateside.

It's released in the US on May 17th.

A promo video has been made for the 'I Am... Sasha Fierce' video anthrology. :)

Woah! :o Beyonce can't do any wrong. Why Don't You Love Me is a good song me thinks. I would love it if it could be a future top 10 40 hit.

WDYLM isn't a single is it? I thought it was just for that anthology

But i think it would do well as a single because it's off the platinum edition and I don't think that has sold too much.

'I Am Sasha Fierce' & 'The Fame' are the new 'Good Girl Gone Bad' :heehee:

As already stated, it's for the I Am...Sasha Fierce video anthology. ;)

Videophone was only a digital release and Ego and Diva were never released as singles. Just promo ones imported from America - where they were released (instead of Broken-Hearted Girl).
