No doubt he was as impressed by her multitude of skills (Keys took a large role in the writing, arranging, and production of her debut album) as by her music, which mates contemporary hip-hop accoutrements to an old-school soul sensibility a la Jill Scott or D'Angelo. Only 20 years old at the time of the album's release, Keys already seemed poised for a major career built upon her soulful voice and classically trained piano chops. While hip-hop played a much bigger role on her second effort, 2003's THE DIARY OF ALICIA KEYS, it was a smash nonetheless, and subsequent recordings have further pushed the boundaries of R&B - HMV Video here: Chart history (Year peak title): 2001 03 Fallin' 2002 37 Brotha Part II (Angie Stone Featuring Alicia Keys And Eve) 2002 18 A Woman's Worth 2002 26 How Come You Don't Call Me 2002 06 Gangsta Lovin' (Eve Featuring Alicia Keys) 2002 24 Girlfriend 2003 19 You Don't Know My Name 2004 18 If I Ain't Got You 2006 62 Ghetto Story (Cham Featuring Alicia Keys) 2007 06 No One 2008 53 Like You'll Never See Me Again 2008 09 Another Way To Die (Alicia Keys And Jack White) 2009 02 Empire State Of Mind (Jay-Z feat. May 16, 201016 yr we should all petition radio 1 to keep the charts as just the charts, and all chat shows to be shoved during dance anthems, cause thats crap That hasn't been on Radio 1 for like 3 years now, noob
May 16, 201016 yr I'm really annoyed Try Sleeping... is not making huge progress. :( I think it's a combination of too many people having the album and the fact the video might have been released too early. However it'll probably be top 15 eventually.
May 16, 201016 yr It never was, listen to it, its an album track, this isnt a single really, it was never going to do incredibly well, i think top 20 is good for this song tbh. It should continue to sell the album though.
May 16, 201016 yr I think this will end up peaking around #16 but it deserves to be about 10 places higher, if we're going on quality.
May 16, 201016 yr at least we have a great song now  hed better just shut up and get on with the chart or I swear- :hithead:
May 16, 201016 yr i have an idea. why dont they put all the competitions on the R1 website, then the winner can be announced in 5 seconds and then get on with the show also all the waffling online too. maybe if R1 had a red button, if u want the waffle press red. and a blue one to exterminate him...
May 16, 201016 yr Just because TSWABH isn't doing as well as her other singles this era, it is doing as well as most of her other back catalogue and i'm sure it can peak in the top 15 at some point.
