Agnes up to #90! What a smash :drama: oh well, it's never been one of my favourites of hers anyway

Thank god Plan B managed to get back into the top 10 before he lost his boost :D

And just wow at Muse, to think most people were putting it down as 76+ on TIP's prediction game  Myself included at first but I changed it to 35, I'll still be way off though  Hope it can go top 10 at least officially

Oh can't Plan B f*** off out of the Top 10 already? :(

No.

Plan B for 8 more weeks plzkthx.

So happy Muse are top 5 on iTunes. The best surprise of the week so far. :yahoo:
Yay it's top 10 (again)! :w00t:

I'd love it to stay top 3 but top 5 is great enough. :D

Btw, i'd like to add that I don't think Radio 1 is extremely effective anymore. Lemar, Gabriella, Miley, Selena, Christina, Alexandra and Usher (at first) all prove it.

EDIT: Just to ask, why don't record companies just make upcoming singles from already released albums "album only" to ensure all the sales are pushed into one week - therefore getting a higher peak position?

While you mention that, I think another good idea would be for some artists, to release most of the album tracks are singles on iTunes, a couple of weeks before the album release date. I thought about that after last year, when this actually happened to Cheryl, and like 5 of her album tracks went top 40 on iTunes, and 3 Words went top 20, despite having only been played a few times on Radio 1, and never on commerical radio stations, or on TV, etc. I think it'd really benefit some artists, and some really desperate people would probably buy all the tracks on the album separately, which would be more profitable for the artists.

Like, for example, that Pendulum song, Salt in the Wounds, got to #38 on iTunes when the album was released. If it was released a couple of weeks before the album, it would've probably charted higher on iTunes, and would've entered the official top 40.

Sorry in advance if what I've just written makes no sense to anybody. :D

Also, I've not heard the Muse song yet, but Neutron Star Collision wins the award for most epic song title in my opinion.

For all the Plan B maniacs, he performed earlier on French TV and is now #1 and #23 on Itunes :o

European smash?

His talking was so annoying though, he was like "yeah I'm a white and happy rapper and I wanna show people I can be good even if I don't come from the gettho"... WTF?!

!

I agree. It's already spent 7 to 8 weeks too long inside of there already :(

Definitely the most overrated new act of 2010 for me. Just ahead of Professor Green & Tinie Tempah.

Plan B will take over the world soon. <3

Here here.

Although I can see Pro Green being a one hit wonder (well more wishful thinking probably) and I don't mind 'Pass Out' or 'Frisky' - especially in a club.

I think I should explain the situation with SITW here :kink:

Basically, the album isn't released yet (it's released next Monday) but they put it up for pre-order with one of the tracks (Salt In teh Wounds) available to download instantly. The thing is though, the track then becomes ineligible for the chart because you're 'purchasing' the track automatically when pre-ordering the album (SItW got as high as it did because pre-orders of Immersion were counted towards SItW as a single). Stupid I know, but it's what prevented Gorillaz' last single from being allowed to chart, and also almost made Coldplay's Viva La Vida ineligible.

That's very wishful thinking, his next single features Lily Allen and pretty much is aimed at the same audience as INYT so it'll do just as well if not better.

Was that from the one TV performance, or is it getting airplay and other promotion aswell? If this is solely due to that one performance, that's pretty incredible!

And does that mean Stromae will no longer be #1. :(

'Can't wait'. :)

Think I'll avoid hearing it until it's forced upon me.

Oh. Well that's stupid. :( It reminds me of when Umbrella was ineligible to chart last year aswell. It was so annoying, not to mention confusing.

Katy Perry/Timbaland were #1 on Itunes before Plan B overtook them, and Justin Bieber is #1 on physicals with 'Baby' :(

And as far as I'm concerned, he hasn't got much airplay so far. But his song was featured on this show all week long, and this is a big daily show.

Plan B is f***ing dreadful.

Don't taint my eyes with talk of Plan B. Tinie Tempah and Prof Green. Three reasons why music has been an abomination so far this year.

I'm choosing to look towards the awesome tracks that are leaking and are set to be huge summer smashes - The Perry, Scissors, Kylie etc.

Also this is frickin awesome for Muse! I hope they don't do a Pendulum though. I'd love to see them get their biggest hit. #4 isn't it?

Indeed. 'Supermassive Black Hole' got to #4, their highest position yet.

I really hope this one doesn't do as well. Their worst song in quite a while...
