Posted May 24, 201015 yr Dizzee and Pendulum eye number one slots 11:03 | Tuesday May 25, 2010 Source: MW By Ben Cardew Dizzee Rascal could be on the way to his fourth number one single this Sunday, with Dirtee Disco currently ahead in early sales reports, while Pendulum lead the race to top the albums chart. Singles Dirtee Disco, released on the rapper’s own Dirtee Stank label, is around 2,000 copies ahead of its nearest rival, BoB feat Bruno Mars’ current number one Nothin’ On You (Atlantic). Iyaz’ Solo (Reprise) and N-Dubz’ We Dance On (UMTV) should also secure top ten debuts, with Eminem’s recent US number one Not Afraid (Polydor) likely to chart in the top 20. Albums On the albums chart, there is likely to be a great deal of action this Sunday: Pendulum should score their first number one album with Immersion (Warner Bros), ahead of the third regular Glee – The Music album (titled Showstoppers and released by Epic) and Katie Melua’s The House (Dramatico), which is set debut in the top five. New 4AD act Stornoway should debut within the top ten with their debut album Beachcomber’s Windowsill, while a deluxe reissue of The Cure’s eighth album Disintegration (Polydor) could make the top 20. The Rolling Stone’ reissued Exile On Main Street, which this week became the first studio album to return to number one as a reissue in the UK, continues to sell strongly and is likely to remain within the top 10. # Billy Joel and Fyfe Dangerfield both continue to benefit from Dangerfield’s cover of Joel’s She’s Always A Woman, which appears in the current John Lewis advert. Joel’s Piano Man – The Very Best Of (Columbia) looks set to debut within the albums chart top 30 this Sunday, while Dangerfield’s Fly Yellow Moon (Geffen) should remain within the top 20. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Top 40 Only Singles 1 Dizzee Rascal 2 B.o.B./Bruno Mars 3 Iyaz 4 Jason Derulo 5 Edward Maya Top 10 6 N-Dubz 10 Sean Kingston & Justin Bieber Top 15 12 Eminem K’naan Top 20 Ke$ha Top 30 Tinie Tempah Michael Buble [HMYY] Alicia Keys [ESOM Pt. May 25, 201015 yr The top 10 on iTunes at the moment is vile. What happened to music? :( I love the iTunes top 10 at the moment. I think many members on buzzjack hate the top 10 at the moment because they're all male *gets shot* In all seriousness though, I think they're all good songs, it's just that they're all in the top 10 at the same time. It'd be nice to have a bit more variety. Luckily, we've still got Stereo Love. :)
May 25, 201015 yr The top 10 on iTunes at the moment is vile. What happened to music? :( All the good stuff's in Eurovision :kink:
May 25, 201015 yr All the good stuff's in Eurovision :kink: Tbh I listened clips in iTunes of all songs and 90% are rubbish and other 10% - only half-decent. :( It's better to have all-urban top-10 than top-10 filled with those songs.
May 25, 201015 yr Tbh I listened clips in iTunes of all songs and 90% are rubbish and other 10% - only half-decent. :( It's better to have all-urban top-10 than top-10 filled with those songs. It's not a good year for instant catchy songs, but there are many beaitiful ballads and mid-tempo.
May 25, 201015 yr The standard of #1s this year hasn't been bad but last year was very good indeed, it seems to go round in cycles. Hoping for another #1 for both Coldplay and Kings of Leon later in the year, and if either The Killers or Linkin Park could get one I'd wet myself. Hoping Pendulum have a nice healthy lead today, will Michael Bublé's album decline like the new releases since his TV special was on Sunday?
May 25, 201015 yr Top 40 update added. Note we only have top 38 in singles - B.o.B. and Chipmee listed twice.
May 25, 201015 yr Albums 4 Katie Melua This is an absolute travesty - she should be outselling evertything else by 2-1!
May 25, 201015 yr Buble with four albums in the top 40. :o Hope Plan B can get back in the top five by Sunday.
