BGT. It has got old very quickly unlike the song that it is based on which still gets the odd few plays on my iPod.

What I find quite odd is that 'OMG' was a huge #1 hit, gets performed on BGT and climbs all the way back up to #3. But when Miley, Pixie and Alicia performed with songs that haven't been a huge hit yet, they only go low top 10. -_-

I think it's because people already have a familiarity with the song and because the final would have gotten more viewers than the semis.

Yep. That makes 2 songs in the top 3 that sound like Boom Boom Pow at the moment (Gettin' Over You and OMG). I like them all though, but a bit more variety in the chart might be nice.

I think Miley will go up into top 5 after she's on graham norton show.... then she'll drop around 9 by saturday :) but that might get enough for top 10
How can Usher climb back to #3? I know he was on BGT but his song has been our for weeks and weeks and already been in the top five for like an eternity. It's seriously hard to believe that people watched the show on Saturday and said "oh, never heard this song before, i'm gonna buy it!".
OHMYGOD how has OMG done it, one of the biggest selling songs of the year by the looks of things, already a massive #1 and now #3, i'm guessing the huge audience of BGT loved the performance.

To be fair, often it takes a performance of a song for me to 'click' with it, and start enjoying it. I don't think it's unreasonable to suppose that this is what has happened with the BGT performance, although I would've thought the song has had enough promotion for people to 'click' with it, as it is, having already been one of the biggest songs of the year.

Oh for Gods sake, how can OMG climb that much again, surely most people would've already had it, and I know a boost is inevitable, but this big, absolutely sick to death of the song <_<

I think it's BGT mixed in with the weekend effect.

So, if Gettin' Over You sells 8,000 per day on iTunes & is on 60%, he'll be on about 6,500-7,500: Frisky should be on about 13,500-15,000. (So far today)

Frisky should get about 14,500-17,000 today. Multiply by 7, and he's on about 105-120,000; If he can keep this up all week.

 "weekend effect", no its just BGT. It was #15 before BGT, then shoots to #3, purely BGT.

Do you know how the pop bars work? I've always wondered if they represent the past 6/12/24/48 hours or what, and if they are weighted in any way (e.g. if the sales in the past hour contribute more to the bar than the sales in the hour before), if they are proportional (i.e. if a bar that is twice the size of another bar sells twice as much), etc.

Does iTunes explain how the pop bars work, or are you just making assumptions based on past experience? Sorry, I've just always wondered how they work. :D

In addition to the repeats on ITV2, the final was shown again today on ITV1.

It's a 24hr rolling chart, Gettin' Over You has sales from the last 24, Frisky has 22 (later release), I see the current pop. bars, calculate how much David should get per day, add the extra % for Frisky, I then take off 2hrs off sales for Guetta, as the sales week starts on a Sunday.
