Fat Les 'Jerusalem' is also at #100 - while not a football song it is sports related so I reckon it deserves a mention.

*Yes, I know it's not officially a football song, but it has strong connections with football so I'm including it anyway

How sad so many football songs I am sure this is the only country where that happens. It makes me miss the days of Glee chart domination. It seems like half the Top 10 will be football songs next week.

Which one isn't a football song?

Anyway, FOAD at Three Lions being back in the top 5 :drama:

Also  at the fake version of Wavin' Flag just outside the top 60, proof football fans are stupid? :kink:

The lead of 'Shout' over 'Frisky' is over 3:1, over 'Wavin Flag' is a bit over 2:1. When, when is it going to die off? :(

I take it Three Lions is climbing because of the England match today

I think these football songs will be like when christmas songs enter the charts- when the world cup and/or when England lose, they'll drop like stones

I'm starting to warm to Akon & Keri's song! I was disappointed with it at first (considering it's who it is) but I'm really getting into it now! Hope it can somehow crawl into the Top 40/50 somewhere :(

Unless it is 1966 all over again and England win the World Cup,they could stick around for a long time.

Maybe I should do my own song blowing a vuvuzela for 5 mins while chanting England.

Oh Africa is not officially a football song

You edited your post! I meant the one with two asterisks. I guess you were going for Jerusalem :)

I edited my post because I made a typo :P Nothing has changed on that post.

Oh Africa (the one with an asterisk) is the one which corresponds to the asterisk message at the bottom of my post

I'm certainly not a massive footie fan but look at these sales, it's incredible! The chart has been so predictable so far this year (you can normally tell by midday sunday what the following week's number one is going to be) I think this is great to get some passion back in the charts. It shows how much England cares!

Ahhh cant wait for tonights match, should be good!

Also, cant wait for Robyn to be released! <3 Somebody said you got a new fwend ;)

AH WHAT?! Vile. Hope the World Cup hurries up and gets over and done with so Alicia can continue her lengthy reign inside the Top 10! -_-

Urgh, those goddamn football songs pushing Alicia out of the Top 10!

 Not surprised really that their arent too many football fans on here. The amount of Glee crap and relentless support for anything released by a number of artists that I have to put up with yet you lot are moaning about the World Cup and its only been on for a day.

My brothers a football fanatic, 4 A* 6 A's and 1 B, not all football fans are thick, alcoholics! bit prejudice if you ask me... (:

Erm... don't come to a music forum then, if you don't want to put up with the relevant musical artists that are in the charts now?

That's exactly what I was thinking just now reading the iTunes top 40. Those songs will probably scrape into the top 40 tomorrow, but next Sunday looks like it could be football anthems domination.

I'd take football song domination over awful Glee cast-off domination any day.

Anyway, it's no different to Germany 2006, the chart that week looked like this:

3. (38) WORLD AT YOUR FEET (By Embrace ) 2 Wks

8. (11) (IS THIS THE WAY TO) THE WORLD CUP (By Tony Christie ) 2 Wks

10. (48) 3 LIONS (By Baddiel And Skinner And The Lightning Seeds ) 2 Wks

11. (50) WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS (DING A DANG DONG) (By Crazy Frog ) 2 Wks

15. (19) STAN'S WORLD CUP SONG (By Stan Boardman ) 2 Wks

37. (NE) WE'RE ENGLAND (TOM HARK) (By Talksport Allstars ) 1 Wk

Which is worse? :P

That 2006 chart is worse. At least next Sunday will have 'Three Lions' (the original and only brilliant version that exsists), 'World In Motion' (the best football anthem...ever?) and 'Vindaloo' (I preferred it to 'Three Lions 1998' ** shrug ** ).

2006 had Embrace, Tony Christie, Crazy Frog and some non-entity songs that most people probably don't remember without the aid of YouTube.
