The Killers have the biggest potential of all the big stadium bands in the world but they have become duller and duller. After their debut, all we have got is a couple of good singles

 

The YouTube thing was removed. I don't have high hopes with this. Great cover though

The melody is so 80s - anthemic. Very good.

Why should he have done something different?

 

Surely a solo project is a little pointless when you can't differentiate it from the band?

For all we know his album may be completly different. It would be a wise move to lead with a song that doesn't move too far from The Killers sound. It'll succeed in luring that audience to buying the track and possibly the album.

 

I say this not knowing if any other songs have surfaced naturally.

It's a great single... and a great video. Horrible artwork, though.

 

I was reading in Q magazine this month that the reason the Killers Oz dates were cancelled earlier this year was that Brandon's Mum died of brain cancer..... sad news.

 

Off topic slightly, but last week I finally bought the Killers Live at the Royal Albert Hall.... and it's one of the best live albums I've ever heard - incredible. I really need to see them live, I've been lazy up to now.....

This has finally clicked with me.

'Cross fire' is one of my singles of the year, and Mr Flowers is an absolutely legendary frontman..... but... 'Flamingo' really is a crushing disappointment. The first few tracks are great but it just ends up a mushy mess of sameness.... and the extra four tracks on the deluxe version are just not even worth thinking about.

 

Not even Stuart Price could have rescued such a humdrum collection of songs..... very very disappointing.

It's not my type of music at all - it all sounds so American.

 

I do kinda like On the Floor.

I just heard his new single Only The Young for the first time ever and OMG it's so interminably dull that I actually almost drifted off to sleep before the end.

 

Admittedly I am tired but it was certainly Brandon assisted sleep, if he could bottle himself then he'd be a rival for #1 in valerian root tea sales.
