June 14, 201015 yr England 1 - 0 Algeria, totally underwhelming and a shite spectacle. Typical England match then, really.

June 14, 201015 yr LOL. I think we'll win 3-0 actually. The draw with USA will really have fired them up. :) Honestly, i'll be stunned if we beat them by more than 2 goals. As for them being fired up, I can't see it happening. Our team typifies exactly what is wrong with modern football, no fire, no passion. They won't be fired up because they don't care. It's unfortunate but the days of having Pearces and Gascoines in our squad are long gone.

It's unfortunate but the days of having Pearces and Gascoines in our squad are long gone. Somebody has been reading too many tabloids.. Who's that number 10 that never stops running? (and was neutralised out of the game Saturday, yes) He's not passionate at all, yeah :) Edited June 14, 201015 yr by Grandwicky
June 14, 201015 yr Nope, I haven't been reading any tabloids actually. It is my opinion that our team is made up of overpaid, overhyped prima donnas and no amount of PR stunts will change my mind. Say what you like about the USA neutralising us or whatever on Saturday, but where was the desire to fight back and retake the lead after their equaliser? Edited June 14, 201015 yr by Mykul
June 16, 201015 yr Should be the usual painful viewing England deliver on TV! Hopefuly the vuvuzela's will distract me from the nonsense on the pitch
June 16, 201015 yr I'd cringe if the overpaid, overhyped England squad could only manage a draw against Algeria.....and I'm a Yank....I have quite a few English mates here in the US, who, IF the English squad pulled off a draw against Algeria, they'd be asking for the heads of the entire squad and coaching staff's heads on silver platters.....to be used as practice balls....
June 16, 201015 yr There's no doubt that England SHOULD beat Algeria! But England are so inconsistent that they are sometimes unbearable to watch. A bad habit of England's is that they often tend to underestimate their opponents, e.g. USA, so the worst thing they can do is underestimate. They need to play like Uruguay did tonight, and go for the win right from the get-go. If we score an early goal, then I'm sure England's confidence will grow, and the floodgates might open. The longer the game remains goalless, the more dangerous Algeria will become, and the more deflated England will be.

I was quite critical over the mass hype over England before the USA game but since then it has become more reasonable. I think England will win this game with some energy left to spare.
June 18, 201015 yr England Line-Up: David James Glen Johnson John Terry Jamie Carragher Ashley Cole Aaron Lennon Frank Lampard Gareth Barry Steven Gerrard Emile Heskey Wayne Rooney Discuss.
June 18, 201015 yr Author Seems like it's 4-4-2 with Gerrard on the left then. No suprise really. Strongest XI avaliable.
June 18, 201015 yr Hold tight on to your seats as we embark on a white knuckle roller coaster ride that is watching England play football in the World Cup  I Predict a win for England 2-1 Edited June 18, 201015 yr by fiesta
June 18, 201015 yr To quote that great philosopher Basil Fawlty, I can take the despair, it's the hope I can't stand.
