July 11, 200619 yr i don't think shakira can get the #1 position again she is only #44 on UK airplay chart (from musicweek magazine) and lily is holding firm at #1 if only she can icrease the audience then she can take it easily but as it stands she is at a disadvantage let put it this way if she does get #1 this week then it would be damn impressive

Why feel sorry for Shayne? he's having a whale of a time singing, and I quote "such great songs", he's earning loads of dosh and it certainly beats selling shoes for a living. :lol: I think he'll probably manage no7 or 8 come sunday. After this week I think SC and LW need to re-access Shayne's UK career and his music/image. I've just remembered, all is not lost as his album could be selling really well this week, so that could make up for having a low selling single, good on him if it is, but they still need to change the songs he's releasing. July 11, 200619 yr That Rogue Traders record is awful. Why not just play the original Elvis Costello track instead of sticking some really bad vocals on top and a generic 4/4 beat. I dunno...kids'll buy anything these days.

Oh I'm not relishing his low position at all Dot and like you say, we'd be devastated if Will had struggled after a couple of singles, it was bad enough when he "only" got to no2 with his 4th single, so much pressure was put on Will in the beginning, the same still applies to subsequent winners from these shows, like I've said, maybe they're buying his album instead this week. :) Moving on, I'd love to see Shakira climb back up to no1 again.

Just like two weeks ago, she could over take Lily Allen (like she did with Nelly Furtado), and there is a lot of negative press coming Lily Allen's way too. Lily Allen won't sell as many copies this week as she did last week (I predict around or just above 25k), so if Shakira continues to sell more copies this week than she did last week, she'll return to the top spot.

July 12, 200619 yr Busta Rhymes only top15? i was in HMV yesterday and it was single of the week with only a few copies left on the shelf. i was thinking a top5.
