July 15, 200619 yr Does anyone think Rihanna could take #1 next week with Unfaithful? I'm thinking about #5 for Rihanna realistically, but I guess it stands an outside chance.
July 15, 200619 yr It's obvious what's happened in the case of Shayne ward. The head honchos at his record label have seen the midweek position and given all their staff money to go out and buy more copies to get it to rise throughout the week. I see no other explaination for it. Same with Busta Rhymes.

Surely though the chart company would suss what was going on and disqualify the track

July 15, 200619 yr I really hope it gets #1 actually... She should have had #1 on two other occassions, when she was held off the top by two more mediocor tracks... Nothing like 3rd time lucky

It doesn't make a difference to the chart position. But don't worry. The OCC use sophisticated software to spot potentially suspicious sales patterns, and if they spot them, the track is disqualified until they can prove it's not dodgy. If SonyBMG staff have been nipping to HMV to buy up baskets full of the CD, it would be spotted. I'd love it if Rhiana could make number one next week. I know her voice isn't the best, but it's a very strong song and it would help make up for SOS missing out. I also don't think I could hack it if Lily spent another week at number one. Her ego would go through the roof. I'm seriously reconsidering buying her album.

Unfortunately, this does not appear to happen if the artist in question is managed by Louis Walsh (e.g. Shayne Ward, W*stl*f*) - the most likely explanation being that Louis Walsh either bribes the OCC or threatens them with something terrible...
July 16, 200619 yr He probably says "if you disqaulif shayne then I will make westlife last for ever" :puke2: or "I will send you naked pictures of me, everyday for the rest of my life" :puke: :puke:

I'm sure he has enough staff to give money and send out to go to a few stores and buy them individually and boost his position.

July 16, 200619 yr Seems as though some of Shayne Ward's sales *might* have been DQ'd after all (or maybe sales were close in that region of the chart).
