October 5, 201014 yr Author 29th In Midweek, pity it wasn't £3 in Hmv. But this will gaurantee outsell wordshaker. I still have worries on weather Headlines will reach 200k :( The whole plan was for it to just bridge the gap between Wordshaker and the 2011 album, dosen't really matter if it sells over 200k or not. I think it's done well to get this far! Just look at previous mini albums recently.. Robyn springs to mind. Poor Robyn :(
October 5, 201014 yr Since it's climbed 8 places since last Tuesday's position (#37), i'd say it's bound to climb even more by this Sunday.
October 5, 201014 yr plus its sold a $h!t load more than the last Sugababies album - and that was an expensive record to produce, this was a 4 song thing, one of which managed to sell (should eventually) 200,000 (MY) and its probable that the other single will sell around 250,000 (H). so when you add it all up... HEADLINES Mini Album - - - - - - - - ** SUCCESS **
October 8, 201014 yr From their website: An expanded version of Headlines will be released on November 8. As well as featuring the Flo Rida version of Higher, it will now include three additional songs from Wordshaker for new fans! The full track listing is: 1. Missing You 2. Ego 3. Higher 4. Forever Is Over 5. Died In Your Eyes 6. Karma 7. Puppet 8. One Shot (Starsmith Mix) 9. Here Standing 10. Lose Control 11. Deeper 12. Higher feat. Flo Rida
October 8, 201014 yr What the f***?? Lol. Are they going to do this everytime it's a bit more successful? (I like the idea though!) I think I may purchase as I don't have 'Wordshaker' (and i'm still not going to pay £16 for it :manson:) but they couldn't have chosen 3 better songs from 'Wordshaker' to add to it (well apart from no 'Open Up') :w00t: 'Lose Control' plus, they could potentially have four entries of 'Higher' in the iTunes chart! :D
October 8, 201014 yr I think if this version stays at around £6/£7, this is a brilliant move. 12 tracks for that price, around Christmas and not a penny spent on studio time? They'll be laughing.
October 8, 201014 yr Author I wish people will stop fretting about this. The re-issue isn't even for us, it's aimed at new fans that obviously didn't buy Wordshaker. Deeper on the album? Over 'Wordshaker' and 'Open Up'? That is kinda crazy not adding Wordshaker, especially when there's so many tracks off the album on there.. apart from the title track LOL
October 8, 201014 yr Deeper on the album? Over 'Wordshaker' and 'Open Up'? I think they wanted an extra slow song on the album to go with DIYE + HS as the rest are all quite fast
October 8, 201014 yr Ew, "Deeper". Hate that song. This probably means they'll be singing it on tour, yuck. Would be pissed off if they added new songs. I guess turning it into a full-length album would make people who haven't bought it yet consider it.
October 8, 201014 yr The idea to put this out again with 'new' tracks is a brilliant idea. They won't have to spend any time in the studio for it, just put it out on the shelves and it should get a lot of sales since it's getting released in the Christmas period. And I just thought of something! 'Here Standing' for winter single! :D Edited October 8, 201014 yr by Aidan
October 8, 201014 yr Yeah, none of the Headlines tracks are strong enough for a single release, imo. One Shot, Lose Control or Here Standing need to be released next.
October 8, 201014 yr 9. Here Standing 10. Lose Control 11. Deeper :( it would be better 9. wordshaker 10. lose control 11. not good enough
October 8, 201014 yr Interesting they're re-releasing headlines, I think Here Standing and Lose Control are both great songs, Deeper isnt bad, but i agree with those who say it should have been Wordshaker as it's a much better song. Perhaps they'll pick Here Standing, Lose Control or One Shot as the next single, as I dont think the other Headlines songs are single-worthy.
October 8, 201014 yr I think Here Standing will be the third single, its much stronger than DIYE, and they really need a ballad release.
October 8, 201014 yr 'Wordshaker' is pants. (The song obviously) Quite possibly one of the most overrated Sats songs, imo. Glad it's not been included onto the Re-issue of 'Headlines'.
