February 3, 201114 yr It wasn't released here but I almost sent it to BJSC once  You're right they do sound incredibly similar. I knew you knew it, I remember you posted it in my NF thread ^_^
February 4, 201114 yr God, yeah, they're pretty much the same song. Just googled it and found the first video was yours Rich :kink: I'm not a big fan, the rapper's OK but the girl is vibrato as HAYILL. Anyway, apparently I Can will premiere on Radio 1 (:o) on 22nd February, and the single will be released digitially on 13th March.

I always liked it, the girl much more than the rapper actually, but mostly for the tune which I adore  Eurovision song premiering on Radio 1!?! :o I bet they won't bother playlisting it though, I just heard Fearne talking about the song on her show though, I guess she's a fan of ESC anyway though seeing as she's presented our NF/read out our results before. Will be interesting to see if Blue manage to get a hit out of it, might be a slow burner if anything, I can't see them debuting particularly high. Would be good if it could be a decent sized pre-contest hit, they'll certainly do everything to make it one I should imagine. Maybe it should be the Comic Relief single as well as our ESC entry - that would ensure high sales, and they must be the only boyband left who haven't done one!
February 4, 201114 yr Was hoping we'd get it sooner, but if it's getting premiered on Radio 1 I won't argue with that :o Better than the Radio 2 premier that Josh got last year for the 'updated' version of his entry.
February 5, 201114 yr I wonder if 'I Can' will get the "to radio, to retail" treatment and be available to download after its Radio 1 exclusive first play?
February 7, 201114 yr Rich, I know it was a good few days ago now but what was Fearne saying about Blue on her show?
February 7, 201114 yr Rich, I know it was a good few days ago now but what was Fearne saying about Blue on her show? Just that she was looking forward to hearing it and that she loved Eurovision, something along those lines; http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/xt71l/ she starts talking about it at 2:07 into the show.
February 8, 201114 yr Blue will be on BBC Breakfast tomorrow morning! And continuing from the rumour that it premiers on Radio 1 on 22nd February, I've also heard that it will be at 4:10pm UK time. Edited February 8, 201114 yr by Jack Sykes
February 9, 201114 yr Blue are supposed to be performing at the Maltese selection this Saturday. Not confirmed whether they will be singing 'I Can', but isn't it a wasted opportunity if they don't. And on TV earlier, Blue said that the song was written before they knew they were doing Eurovision, so I guess it's good that we aren't getting a song that was written for Eurovision, maybe it'll actually be better. February 9, 201114 yr Oh no I hate Blue!! I only found out this morning on Beeb Breakfast! They are a bunch of dicks that are just coming back with their tales between their legs after their unsuccessful or non-existant solo efforts. It's another new(ish) tactic from BBC I suppose to get a decent placing on the night, but I'm not holding out for much... Edited February 9, 201114 yr by ScottyEm
February 12, 201114 yr Eurovision.tv is saying that the premier will be March 11th, on the Graham Norton show. Almost a month to wait, and it'll be one of the last entries to be heard I assume (so if this is the case, they won't be able to promote at other national selections). edit: Unless they mean the TV premier, possibly? Upon reading this, I'm now even more confident of a last place with a minimum of 12 points (thank you Italy ^_^ ). If Jedward do qualify for the live final ( :manson: ) and collect more points than Blue, then it'll seem like a two finger gesture to the UK from Europe.

Promo tours have been proven to make minimal difference on the end result, so I wouldn't worry too much. Did Lena do a tour last year, I can't remember  Either way, some people who put on huge promo tours get nil points from loads of the countries they visited and flop regardless. Sweden's entry is always chosen at around the same date (mid-March) so the UK aren't alone.
February 14, 201114 yr Author Yeah promo tours don't make much difference let's be honest. By the time the Eurovision arrives in May, a vast majority of people aren't going to remember a song that was sung at their national final two or three months previous.

Major lol at Channel Ten news there
February 22, 201114 yr LMAO at that video! She's got a face I wanna beat so hard, but her personality is amazing! I think the thing that made it more interesting is that I didn't understand what she was saying, but I could imagine it haha!
