SPEAK OUT: Early word from retail is that Taylor Swift’s Speak Now (Big Machine) is “huge” and “exploding,” with some initial projections in the 800-900k range—downright stunning for this day and age. On top of that, half of the iTunes Top 20 tracks are from the album. So how high can Speak Now go in week one? Won’t be long till we find out. (10/26a)

Glad I bought the deluxe version. The three original US versions of the songs re-worked for the UK are far superior - why take out anything vaguely country and just replace it with blandness? The UK mix of Back To December in particular is far less effective. I felt the same way about Love Story last year, I never listen to the UK version, it's so plain :lol:

^ I know, I do prefer the U.S. versions.

They try and make it more poppy to appeal to UK market.

 

I love 'The Story Of Us', 'Better Than Revenge' and 'Sparks Fly'.

Finally got to unwrap it this morning for my birthday and I've been listening to it all day :wub: I'm so glad it's good, Fearless has become one of my favourite albums ever and I really didn't want the follow up to be crap. Thank god it isn't!

Not sure if I prefer this over the last album. But there's a chance I'd think that to be honest.

 

It was a bit too lengthy but it's okay. I like how the first 3 tracks in the bonus CD (if that makes sense) can kind of fit in the standard album tracklisting. :lol:

I am really happy that she manage to follow up the incredible 'Fearless' with this ^_^

Débuted at #6 this week, in the UK. :)

Awww I was really hoping it would go top 5. Great though for a pretty strong week :)

#6 isn't too bad, maybe Taylor will be more of an albums artist now, who knows. Hope it doesn't drop too much next week.

 

Not listened to every track just yet, due to slow internet at the moment, and my holiday last week, but Haunted, Enchanted & Innocent seem to be my favourites on top of 'Mine' and the three promo songs.

'Enchanted' is perfect.

 

After a few listens my favourites:

'Enchanted', 'The Story of Us', 'Haunted', 'Sparks Fly' and 'Mine'.

 

Glad to see a good debut for Taylor, she does seem to be more of an albums artist. :)

Massive well done to Taylor. Until we saw the first figure yesterday, which was somewhere over 500k at 54%, I didn't think she'd quite make it. But this has also sold more than Lil Wayne's first week sales in 2008, which was the last album to sell over a million in a week iirc

What an amazing achievement! Some experts said it wasn't possible any more to get such numbers with current market.

That's the equivalent of selling 2.3million albums in year 2000.

'Back To December' is starting to climb back up the Hot 100 it seems, it's up to #26 this week! Hopefully when the video is released it gets higher. :)

 

Oh, and the chart run for 'Speak Now' in the US is great so far!
