Only 10 missiles fired. All intercepted. Everybody already evacuated. Monday at 22:201 day The Iranian response was classic saving face for a domestic audience. They have locked down the Internet and telecoms and control the tv. They can domestically project what they want to save face at home while not picking a fight with the US. Feels like a negotiated off ramp they could take to not be seen as weak and embolden internal opposition, letting out some frustration, and also showing the US that they are willing to strike out at their military installations if the us decides to press further. Seems to have been well received by the moulding kumquat. 4 hours ago, Iz 🌟 said:Indeed! Major transit hub between east and west (used it myself before). If the whole ME devolves into a confused mess of war I really don't know what the transport industry will do about that.Strongmen seizing power will doom us all. Netanyahu, Trump, Khamenei, they're all awful despotic leaders whose lusts for power have killed many and will kill yet more before this is all over.Honestly, much of the travel industry would be overjoyed if the airspace around Qatar and the UAE was suddenly problematic. Emirates, Etihad and Qatar have never made a single cent in profit between them but they’ve absolutely wrecked a lot of the legacy carriers. The tourist money would just migrate to Egypt or Saudi, and the hubs would relocate to either Istanbul or the old kangaroo model of Europe + Asia (eg start airport to Heathrow then Hong Kong or Bangkok or Singapore then onto your destination)If those three money laundering exercises masquerading as airlines could no longer fly effectively Qantas, Lufthansa, AF-KLM, Turkish, Malaysian, Cathy and Singapore would throw a party (while Trebling their fares overnight).

10 hours ago10 hr So the New York Times and CNN are reporting that US intelligence reports the bunker busting bombs didn’t destroy Iran’s nuclear facility at all. Just sealed off the entrances. They’re estimating it may have delayed their nuclear program by a few months but the underground facility is largely in tact and was unscathed.
