July 27, 201015 yr Tom Jones #1 album? Makes sense, we've had Boyzone, Kylie and Eminem this year, the late 90's/early 00's are back :D Glad for The Wanted, it's a nice if not incredible song but sooooooooooooooooo much better than the mehfest Billionaire which I thought was a guaranteed UK #1.
July 27, 201015 yr Jedward must only be that high as they've done loads and loads of Tesco signings (), I expect they'll do a Sweet 7 style peak and chart run with this.
July 27, 201015 yr Are jedward mainly selling physicals? because their album is out of Top 40 on itunes and amazon download websites now.
July 27, 201015 yr glad to see diana at number 31 in single and number 14 with the album atleast the singles rising hope its get number 29-30 this week :D and glad albums still in top 15 hopefully stay top 15 again this week or top 20 :D
July 27, 201015 yr Jedward must only be that high as they've done loads and loads of Tesco signings (), I expect they'll do a Sweet 7 style peak and chart run with this. Loads and loads? 2, and that's including the one that is in progress as we speak. ;)
July 27, 201015 yr By the end of the week, The Wanted will easily pass 90,000. Can Billionaire catch up to that?
July 27, 201015 yr Are jedward mainly selling physicals? because their album is out of Top 40 on itunes and amazon download websites now. i swear most album sales are physical. i think its somthing like 10% of album sales are digital so yh. lool
July 27, 201015 yr Its refreshing to see a couple of new entries inside the top 10, Flo Rida will be an added bonus. I never expected The Wanted to get a #1 on their debut release ahead of Travie McCoy, I could have swore Travie would have had the #1 in the bag this week. It goes to show British new acts can still manage a #1 and they are not manufactured with a TV show behind them, it takes a boy band to do it though, The Wanted and JLS might inspire new boy bands to creep forward. Half of this year's #1s are British based. Towards the end of the year, it be all X Factor related again. I can see The Wanted sales trailing off at the end of the week though, with the 35k lead. As for the Travie singles that are lingering at the bottom end of the top 40 of the singles chart, they are not eligible to chart as they are B-sides, they will be long gone tomorrow. That will push 2 tracks back up inside the top 40. I don't know what has fallen out from last week, as I don't have any paperwork handy. Surprised at Diana Vickers climbing, the album must be helping the single to rise. Nice to see Tom Jones #1 in the albums, but I doubt he will hold on, Eminem might re-take #1. Also I don't think Jedward will get any higher, after today the only way forward is down.
July 27, 201015 yr Im really glad Diana is at 31 atm and i hope she goes further into the top 30 or even top 20. It was such a shame she only got 36. I like Wanted's single but i prefer Billionaire more, Bruno Mars' voice is sick!
July 27, 201015 yr Bit of a drop for Kylie at #8. Realistically she'll be at about #10 on Sunday. A bit off topic but an insider on her forum said they have A LOT of big TV performances coming up towards Christmas and 2 more singles to follow ATL before the end of the year! :D
July 27, 201015 yr yay at diana rising in both charts. hopefully album top 10 and single top 30 by the end of the week.
July 27, 201015 yr Tom Jones #1 album? Makes sense, we've had Boyzone, Kylie and Eminem this year, the late 90's/early 00's are back :D If only it was the early to mid 90s artists that were making a comback, then I'd have a lot to smile about.
July 27, 201015 yr Are jedward mainly selling physicals? because their album is out of Top 40 on itunes and amazon download websites now. Supermarkets are trying to cash in on it. Was in Sainsbury's earlier and they were promoting it like crazy for £7.99. Made me want to punch their manager in the face when I saw Jedward all over the shop and not ONE SINGLE COPY of Avenged Sevenfold's album, which is in all probability gonna be in the Top 3!
July 27, 201015 yr I personally don't care if an artist is "manufactured" by a TV show, or something. I rate them off their songs...
July 27, 201015 yr It would be kinda cool if Flo Rida overtakes Eminem so he's #5, then next week with the video LTWYL goes to #1. Then LTWYL's chart run would be 7-6-4-3-2-5-1, getting to every position between 2 and 7 exactly once before going to #1. :kink:
July 27, 201015 yr Tom Jones #1 album? Makes sense, we've had Boyzone, Kylie and Eminem this year, the late 90's/early 00's are back :D I think you mean the mid-60's? :P
July 27, 201015 yr I personally don't care if an artist is "manufactured" by a TV show, or something. I rate them off their songs... Notice how manufactured acts rarely, if ever, win awards though... I think that's partly a 'not-paying-their-dues' thing.
July 27, 201015 yr Notice how manufactured acts rarely, if ever, win awards though... I think that's partly a 'not-paying-their-dues' thing. That's due to the snobby award organisations. The fact that Kate Nash won Best British Female in 2008 over Leona is laughable. The same can be said about Lily winning BBF this year although to a lesser extent.
July 27, 201015 yr That's due to the snobby award organisations. The fact that Kate Nash won Best British Female in 2008 over Leona is laughable. The same can be said about Lily winning BBF this year although to a lesser extent. By virtue of not even writing her own music, it was right that Leona didn't win that award. Kate Nash also sucks.
July 27, 201015 yr I can't believe that...it's an amazing song for the wanted... :D but they don't even got playlisted by the station? and they got to no. one? how many no. of singles can do that? anyway :yahoo: THE WANTED :P
