About Stromae vs. Yolanda, I absolutely love both. Two of the best tracks of the year, and I think it's quite a big deal when foreign language tracks get promoted in the UK (that's if Alors on danse does even get any decent promotion in the upcoming month). I hope this becomes more of a trend, as there's some phenomenal songs, of all genres, which people in the UK miss out on, due to their lyrics not being in English.

 

I don't think Alors on danse will be as successful as We No Speak Americano in the UK. I know it's been more successful in most other European countries, but it's getting a later release here, and, let's face it, it's not even going to get top 40 unless it gets playlisted by Radio 1. Most commercial radio stations won't touch the song, until it gets into the charts, which ironically, it won't do if they don't play is.

Love the Way You Lie has been on radio since the day after the album got released. It premiered on Radio 1. Commercial radio stations (e.g. Galaxy) played it frequently after it charted on the Big Top 40 Show, which happened 6 days after the album's release. So it's been getting airplay for over a month now.

 

I also heard Won't Back Down on Radio 1 once.

Hoosiers are going in the wrong direction :(

 

Oh well, at least it got to 11 for a while.
