I’ve never ever got the steps like comparison and I’ve heard a lot of people mention it in regards to Judas.

Oh I totally get it and agree it is such an embarrassment of a chorus. I can just picture them all stood there doing a stupid little dance to it.

Judas is incredible. There's so much to it - from the delightfully cheesy chorus to the cocky sounding spoken word bridge to that EPIC breakdown which goes really hard. Ugh it's f'n brilliant.

Omg I can totally see that  They could also do a stupid dance to Bad Kids, Hair, Unicorn, Americano and Bloody Mary! This album is just too cheesy to listen to these days tbh - and Judas is embarrassing.

I am genuinely confused as to how people hear "STEPS" in Judas. It's honestly baffling. STEPS absolutely f***ing WISH.

Is it just coz it's a more poppier than people would expect from the verses? I used to just cast it to one side because I only ever saw Michael say it, but dandy* agreeing has kinda triggered me

No, the music is tinny, jolly and cheesy and you could put ANY Steps lyrics over it! It has these edgy verses and then ... that tinny basic pop beat!!
The chorus is quite basic tbf but that's not necessarily a bad thing! Simple, poppy and not trying to be anything but a bit throwaway - nothing wrong with that given most of her other choruses are meatier and more layered.

BLOODY MARY!!!!

No way. That’s like so far away from steps and cheese.

They FKN wish they had the mind to write something like Bloody Mary.

What are people's thoughts on 'The Queen'? I think it could potentially be my favourite album track from Born This Way! :o The final verse and the long outro... WIG = GONE

There's a real 70s/80s rock vibe about the final four of 'Electric Chapel' - 'The Queen' - 'You & I' - 'The Edge of Glory'. Such a powerful, anthemic way to end the album.

I can't say its a favourite from the album for me. It's probably my least fave of the 3 deluxe tracks on BTW - Black Jesus + Amen Fashion  > Fashion Of His Love > The Queen
I absolutely ADORE 'The Queen' and always have. It was an early favourite and it has aged sublimely too. I am not sure if it has many fans on here though :snif:

Our Gaga taste has been ON POINT recently! 'The Queen' is glorious, was probably the highlight from the second half of the album tracks at the time, so it's always been a favourite.

Big fan of 'Bad Kids' too which I don't think is particularly fondly regarded here?

I love The Queen!

Probably my favourite deluxe track actually now i think about it.

NINE YEARS since this album. Seriously, where the hell has time gone?

Time is a strange one when it comes to music. When I think back to where I was in my life nine years ago, it does feel like quite a distance away, yet when I think of this album, like the first time I heard it or following the era, it doesn't seem so far. Perhaps because we can still revisit the album through time and get reminded of those thoughts and memories so they stay fresh in the mind.

I also tend to use music as a way of remembering dates, so someone could say "you remember when we did this?" and I'll be like "yeah, that was Summer 2011 because Born This Way had been released!".

I can very much relate to that point!

I can remember the week this album come out very well! My GCSES were beginning on the actual day the album come out I had two exams and I literally went into Newcastle town centre in search for the album at HMV they didn’t have it (well they only had the standard) so I ended up buying it from a superstore Tesco right by Newcastle airport. I didn’t get home until like 8pm lol and I had more exams the next day but it was all I could focus on.

This album really holds a very large place in my heart though

I can definitely remember where I was when the album first came out. I can remember specific walks I took in the evenings just so I could listen to the album on repeat with no distractions.

It also holds a special place in my heart. I can confidently say, it has made me into the person I am today. It is responsible for so much of my happiness!
