Yeah, it was a little bit, but it is sort of true. I think she would've done well anyway, but I think it's so hypocritical how some people here are whining about Olly being at #1, but they're all really happy about Katy and Adele being high at the moment.

Yeah, once she got into the top 10, she's completely flown up. I think some people just weren't aware that it was out yet, but now it's on the front page of iTunes, it's hard to miss. :lol:

Pop bars, obviously wrong for Katy but she's just taken #3, so assume she's very slightly ahead of Eminem/Rihanna;

She's heading for #2 but Olly's got more than 2:1 on her at the moment, though she'll probably catch up by the end of the week...depends if she can take over next week what with McFly, Alexandra and Alesha out (I really don't expect The Script to do better than mid-low top 20).

Surprised that Dynamite has given way so quickly to Olly and by such a large margin.I thought Taio would have held on to No 1 for at least another week.

The irony is that it will have so much higher sales at #2/3 on its second week in the chart than Break Your Heart did on its second week at #1 :drama: the 2010 chart climate is so different to 2009 and a world away from the constant 4/5 week chart toppers of 2008, only two years ago :o

It's really annoying me how everyone is trying to put down Olly and trying to ruin his chances of getting to #1. As if that's going to put anyone of buying his single and him getting to #1. Olly is an all-round talented performer and is deserves a shot at #1. I don't mind people wanting Katy Perry to be #1, like I do, but when it's getting to personally insulting Olly and saying he doesn't deserve a #1. 'X Factor is ruining our charts' etc. It's just wrong.

Exactly. She was on X Factor anyway. Really it's chav $h!t like Katy B (not Perry) ruining the charts.

IMO your last sentence, at least, is true.

I don't want Olly being number one because it's a generic, average song and I think 'Teenage Dream' is far superior.

 

I don't have anything against Olly personally. He seems really down-to-earth and cool. It's Danyl that I despise. :smoke:

 

It's funny how I've actually defended Olly on here today yet he's mine and Katy's competition - yes I'm including myself on Katy's record. :kink:
