This is kind of a pointless, but I've noticed they've changed the cover of Alexandra's single cover on iTunes. A lot of people didn't like the old one I guess, and it is on the front page and everything.

Also, Alors on danse up to #24!

Oh I might buy it now :kink: (J/k, nothing to do with the artwork, it just really clicked with me after the GMTV Daybreak (still can't get used to that ) performance)

And :cheer: Maybe it can get the top 25 peak which if other European hits of the year are anything to go by, it "deserves" :(

The whole Drummer Boy thing is getting so frustrating! :banghead: I wish it would just get into the Top.10 and be able to overtake Roll Deep! Great song feels like it must be No.1!! Yay for Hurts and Brandon being the Top.2 albums :D Sad that Eminem's starting to drop, although he usually rises again when the new albums fade away down the charts!
:o Where did the Naked and Famous come from all of a sudden? Is it too soon to consider them as one of the potential Sounds of 2011? (although if this goes top 20 unexpectedly it won't matter)

I think we should have a Mercury / XX watch now...

How fitting that the only Paul Weller song in the top 1000 is from the last album he released that was nominated for the Mercury Prize (Wild Wood).

*edit. I just checked, it wasn't on that album. How silly of me.*

It would be nice if one of the songs from his current album could enter as well.

The XX winning could push Islands into the top 40 for the first time, they could get the career boost that Elbow got in 2008

What people seem to forget is that the Seldom Seen Kid was already a top 5 album with two top 40 singles spun from it before it was nominated for the Mercury, so in relative terms it was already quite successful.

But it got them far more mainstream attention- and interest in their songs started up again, One Day Like This got a new peak for example- and the song was then used on countless montages etc. and has now become a modern classic and the mercury prize did certainly help this as it only peaked at 39 at first

maybe Islands can do similar to this song and get a new peak

up to 57 now, could go top 40 next week

Heard a quick snippet of "Only Girl" and thought it was crap. but i listened to it properly and i absolutely LOVEEEE ITTT   . I don't know why but i keep on getting a 70s/80s feel from the track. Have high hopes for the Loud era. :D

For me Drummer Boy is a weak single to go Top10 without a lot of support. Is it being heavily promoted this week somewhere?

I think we should have a Mercury / XX watch now...

The XX:

Plus the album is just £3 on Amazon downloads ATM..!
