According to the rules:

"The featured track of a Top 40 single cannot be released as a B-Sideor extra title on a subsequent chart-eligible single until the former has dropped out of the top 40."

Very good. Daniel Powter got hit with that rule.

Muse are back with the astonishing disco funk of new single 'Supermassive Black Hole', taken from their eagerly anticipated new album 'Black Holes And Revelations', which is due out in July. And what a mighty return it is, with 'Supermassive Black Hole' combining elements of sleazy glamrock-dance (last championed by Goldfrapp) with a crunching guitar hook similar to Britney Spears' 'Do Somethin' (yes, really!), all welded on to infectious grooveride of creepy vocal harmonies and dancefloor beats that could finally deliver the band the crossover hit they hinted on with their last album 'Absolution'.

'Timeless' is the magnificent new album by the legendary Sergio Mendes. Produced by and featureing Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas, this album is a wholly original synthesis of music from the man who - 40 years ago - brought Brazil 66 and 'Mas Que Nada' to the world. 'Timeless' beautifully blends the urban culture of Brazil, samba and bossa nova with the urban culture of America, hip hop and rap, the results of which are truly spectacular.

Here are the lyrics:

Mas que nada

Sai da minha frente

Eu quero passar

Pois o samba est animado

O que eu quero sambar

Este samba

Que misto de maracatu

samba de preto velho

Samba de preto tu

Mas que nada

Um samba como esse t?o legal

Voc n?o vai querer

Que eu chegue no final

Gnarls Barkley follow the gargantuan success of their debut single 'Crazy' with 'Smiley Faces', the second single from the world wide web acclaimed album 'St. Elsewhere'. Marked by Danger Mouse's inventive, genre-busting production and Cee-Los rich, evocative vocals, the soulful sound of 'Smiley Faces' will satiate the masses who adored 'Crazy' as it finds a new threshold of pop passion. The song will touch the cynical, and prepare you for the hard work of positive thought. This catchy tune will keep you moving through the rough patches. - HMV

Unfaithful has some SOS version as its B-side.

According to the rules:

"The featured track of a Top 40 single cannot be released as a B-Sideor extra title on a subsequent chart-eligible single until the former has dropped out of the top 40."

But if the physical CD including this SOS Version isn't out until 2moro so surely it would be allowed to chart this week even if the song did enter on downloads?

I't s confusing.

I'm really growing to hate this Mas Que Nada song, which surprised me.

So they've deleted SOS so Unfaithful can chart? Wouldn't it be better if they just didn't put SOS as a b-side on Unfaithful?

Although fervently denied its "solo album" status by Thom, it is undeniable that 'The Eraser' is the sound of Thom Yorke branching out from his usual Radiohead duties. Whilst still produced by Radiohead favourite Nigel Godrich, 'The Eraser' is the culmination of "beats and things" that Thom has written and recorded throughout his mainstay as Radiohead's frontman. A new Radiohead album is still slated for a 2006 release… - HMV
