Grant Scott

If this fake version officially charts on sunday (which it most definitely will), I think the real version will be rush released on sunday night.

Wow, Bruno Mars is really anticipated! :o

Im sure they will have to release it early- meaning it will get to number 1 now (it never had a chance against Robbie and Gary)

That's 50/50 at the moment if it charts, it might just do what Greg Street did last week.

And on a separate note, I've just noticed Missing Andy has plummeted like a breeze block, he or them will be lucky to stay top 40.

Also, they'll definitely stay top 40 if The Pictures could last week.

Anyway, unless his record company are complete idiots Bruno should be released on Sunday or earlier. Grant Scott will probably chart as well, the only fake versions that get excluded seem to be 'artists' which make it very clear they're a tribute band. Example relating to Bruno Mars, a cover of Nothin' On You by Vandarth charted at #97 earlier this year. Fakes by XNRG, HelenaMaria, Greg Street, Ameritz, Marco Calliari, Airi L, GG... can't think of any more but I'm sure there are a couple more, have all charted while '#1 [insert artist] Tribute Band' is always excluded.

Doesn't necessarily work the other way round though, for example that Chani & J Rae cover of Boom Boom Pow was excluded.

:o just realised grant scott's at #23 !

RELEASE BRUNO MARS ON SUNDAY, they have too!

Maria Mena nearly top 100 :o Based on that, Tone Damli could EASILY go top 40 with airplay...
Or Janet Jackson who went all the way to #73 with her single that she performed on there last year.

The song's that do well would probably have been #1's or at least top 3's without X Factor, yes they increase the exposure and open it up to bigger sales but if there's no or litte public interest in it, X Factor can only get a song so far (see that Foreigner cover by Mariah Carey for another example). The producers basically get on the act who most likely would have been #1 anyway, the day before the song's released. Not coincidental, just common sense by the producers/record companies.

...or 'Did It Again' by Shakira. If a song just isn't good enough all the promotions in the world still won't get the song to #1.

Anyways, it's interesting to see a version of 'Just The Way You Are' already as high as no. 23 so I agree with others, the record company would be daft to hold back the release for a couple more weeks.

Grant Scott  #20

Getting into the territory that normally triggers a rush release.

Record companies are far too stubborn to rush release a record because of a fake version

Shontelle_Layne OMG I want to cry! Thank you UK! I can't believe

#Impossible has only been out this week and it's #6 on UK iTunes and #14 on the midweeks!

Like Arrs said she's officiali i-loon

 her.

POOR ROBYN :(

I know!

I don't understand why she's flopping so hard :drama:

So pleased with Shontelle's progress so far  hope she can keep climbing

Gutting for Robyn though, I prefer it to DOMO.

Shontelle sounds so shocked .

Aw she s really grateful, hope she somehow gets up to #5 on itunes. She needs to secure a top 10 place!

Lots of love for shontelle on buzzjack!

LOL at Bruno Mars. I fear it will be another 'When Love Takes Over' situation when record company bothers to release the song after the fake version going top-10 in iTunes. I remember that that fake version didn't even want to go from top-10 once it got there.

Another ridiculous example of these fake versions and late releases is when in Ireland fake 'Stereo Love' charted and something like #6 and the original one was low top-20. Officially! Later the original got to #1 but that week it was ridiculous.

Not a fan of Shontelle's song but glad she'd doing well as it's quite different from the usual chart hit of 2010.

Don't forget She Wolf was still higher in the charts at that point, and it didn't really get exposure anywhere else as she performed it on X Factor ages before its release, video and radio 1 playlisting, which is probably why it hung around the 20s and 30s for ages.

Although I love Shontelle, I wish she'd get off twitter and come over here and do some promo! The song is begging for it, considering minimal airplay, and could be doing even better!

OH GOD! Jesus Christ! Bruno's label need to hurry up and release 'Just The Way Your Are'. It's going to be huge!
