Yes, it IS a cover of Donkeyboy - Ambitions. Now I'm utterly conflicted over whether I want him to do well or not, as Ambitions is one of my favourite tracks of last year, and I'd love to see it do well, but still...if this was why the original never got a proper push I'm QUITE PISSED.

Okay, I'm not too sure. He sounds quite the Donkeyboy singer (yes, I know it's a cover)... a slightly faster tempo... well, I don't know what to think, I'll give a few more listens some time.

Not always a great start when the campaign starts of with a cover version, at the end of the day x factor claim to all about music and finding a talent, for a show that does so well and is so huge surely they should have someone on board coming up with new material for the artists.

Well, it's not too bad given it's something that didn't impact over here first (and Bleeding Love nearly got released first by Jesse McCartney, but Leona's team picked it up before he could release it)...

That sounds nothing like Joe :o Will he be able to sing like that live?! I'v never heard the song before but that makes 2 covers for him *already*. I think i like the song, i just can't get use to him sounding like that... makes him a lot cooler sounding than the theatre sound he had going on.

It's a really good song but a bad move releasing a cover as his first 'proper' single I think. If they haven't been able to write or find a great original song for him to release then it doesn't look very hopeful for the rest of the album. I wonder if there'll be any more covers on it?

The original has a really seventies vibe but have not heard Joe's it seems like an odd choice as not sure who the song would appeal to.Hope he does well as he does have a really good voice.

Apparently the album is out nearly the end of October, so I reckon it means single for the 18th of October and the album for the 25th of October ?

No, it's definitely him. The guy who's doing the video released a couple of shots from it, and it's got Ambitions lyrics as captions for some of them...
