I think I pretty much agree with this, particularly the last bit. 'Stan' was the first Eminem song that I actually liked, although I didn't really "love" it at the time. But I think out of the two in question, I prefer LTWYL, just. But my favourite Eminem song is 'Cleaning Out My Closet' followed by 'When I'm Gone' and 'Like Toy Soldiers'. His best stuff is EASILY his more serious sorta stuff though. Easily.

Oh and in regards as to which track I think will stand the test of time better, I put equally as i'm sure LTWYL will be remembered just as much as 'Stan''s been remembered for it's first 10 years or so.

In comedy mode he's probably amongst my least favourite artists - Just Lose It, Ass Like That and Crack A Bottle are three of the most excruciating songs of all time.

Without You and The Real Slim Shady aren't that bad though to be fair. But yeah, his 'serious' strike rate is 80% upwards in quality terms.

Stan for both by a billion miles. For one, Stan has already stood the test of time and it's a f***ing classic. LTWYL got old VERY quickly.
clearly Stan, already took the test of time and really shows just how much of a genius Eminem is (was). LTWYL is a fantastic track but it doesnt touch just how brilliant Stan is.
I prefer Stan, but I still really like Love the Way You Lie, and I think both will be well remembered in the future.

I`m very pleased that Stan wins, because it's much better song. First of all, it`s less commercial. "Baby, please come back" is the inflection! In addition, Rihanna, unfortunately, can`t sing. Dido is very talented.

Unfortunately, I`m afraid (despite the first single :D ), " Love The Way You Lie 'will stand the test of time more. Here in Poland I didn`t hear n "Stan" on the radio since about two years. Apparently this song is very long, but it's there Radio Edit.

Best bit of Eminem? Last I remembered, "Like Toy Soldiers.".

Stan by an absolute country mile, I find it quite unbelieveable that this question is even being asked

Stan is one of the iconic tracks of the last 10 years or so, never dates, LTWYL is a decent song but it just doesn't compare.

It is like asking which Beatles track ? Hey Jude or Yellow Submarine

'Stan', 'Lose Yourself' and 'Love The Way You Lie' are the tracks I think of when I think of him.
LTWYL is pretty overrated now imo. I liked it when the album was first released, but now I'm slightly bored of it
Obviously Stan, Eminem has been bad for a while now... and the rap in stan was quite powerful, but i think people will only remember this new song for that f***ing annoying chorus.

I certainly don't remember LTWYL for the chorus, surprisingly. I think the verses on LTWYL are some of Em's best and easily contain his best lyrics since 'Lose Yourself'. The bit that's most powerful to me, is this part...

But you promised her

Next time you'll show restraint

You don't get another chance

Life is no Nintendo game

But you lied again

Now you get to watch her leave out the window

Guess that's why they call it window pane

The last two lines in particular are probably two of my most favourite lyrics ever. GENIUS.
Can't actually listen to Stan any more. It's lost it's power. I used to love it.
  • 2 weeks later...

Stan.

Both will.

Both are amazing classics....both will still be listened to 50 years from now...gauranteed :D

'Stan', 'Lose Yourself' and 'Love The Way You Lie' are the tracks I think of when I think of him.

The Real Slim Shady as well.

Those 4 are classics....in fact most of his songs are class.
