'Firework' is the third single and the video should premier soon! :D

At first I wanted E.T. to be the next single but I just love 'Firework'! I know what I'm playing on repeat on 5th November. :kink:

This is the place to discuss the next single whether it's chart positions, performances, awards or the video.

Hopefully the video is as good as CG and TD.

Love this song. It's my favourite on the album along with Last Friday Night. ^_^

Really not a fan of this song, although most people seem to love it, so I guess it's a good choice for single number 3.

The chorus just grates on me!

this really is a grower, I found it so dull and overrated at first, but now it's completely grown on me. the boom boom boom middle 8 in particular.

still would prefer 'e.t.' or 'peacock' though. hopefully singles 4 and 5. :D

I do really like this song but shouldn't be a single imo.

E.T. HAS to be released, also Peacock and Circle The Drain are brilliant!!

IMO, it should be a single. It's anthemic but in a different way to her past 2 singles. I don't think E.T. would do that well personally, and Peacock is way too Ke$ha to be a release. Perfect choice IMO.

Completely agree.

Anthemic sums it up completely. The chorus is euphoric as well! Just love it! The lyrics are once again strong despite being an up-tempo "clubby" track.

I think this will go top 5 - top 2 with an X Factor performance.

Brilliant choice, I'd have said this or E.T. tbh (but E.T. is a bit slower and would be good to show another side to her after TOY flopped, but I love FW too). Hopefully she gets an XF slot and gets another top 3, if not a number 1

109 KATY PERRY Firework 47 0 47 0.637

It goes for adds in the US on November 2nd, a bit weird because it'll easily be top 40 before then. And if anyone missed her tweet, she's been filming the music video in Budapest today - exciting, hope the video is of CG/TD standard!

I agree. Peacock is very Ke$ha and has nothing on this as a single. I actually think Peacock will get censoring for radio, it is very direct and explicit on the chorus (much more than IKAG was) if you know what I mean... I had this idea that they would edit out 'peacock' and replace it with 'teapot'

My favourite track on the album. It just touches me. :snif:

OMG that preview looks stunning can't wait to see the video now.

I'm with you there. I thought I'd begin to love the shouty chorus a la 'Only Girl' but it's never quite clicked. 'Teenage Dream' will always be my favourite from the album.

Now that I think about it, ET would have been SO much better now and Firework fourth but anyway the video is going to be the most EPIC thing ever I'm sure of it!

Am I the only one who was falling on the floor when Katy used those Firework puns in her tweets as if her fans are dumb enough not to know its the next single LOL! :hithead:

How was the chorus in IKAG explicit?

The wacko face really was unnecessary. I said Peacock was much more explicit than IKAG, that was the point. I honestly did not think IKAG would be popular on radio with the promotion of homosexual making out and all...

Sorry, it wasn't meant to offend. It's my confused "face". :P I just don't think IKAG was explicit. It was controversial, considering Katy used to perform Christian music and also because this is America we are talking about () but I always thought it would be a hit since it's catchy, relevant and controversial without being explicit.

I don't think 'Peacock' would get censored. It's the song title after all. Either radio will refuse to play it (but could they afford to since Katy is huge atm?) or it will be an 'If U Seek Amy' situation. Or obviously, they don't have to release it. :P The radio edit could always go "I wanna see your pea (instrumental), your pea (instrumental)".

I think 'The One Who Got Away' should be the 4th single anyway.

Great news about 'Firework' already getting radio adds. It's going to be a hit and since Bonfire Night 2010 is arriving, I think it's an apt third single with an inevitable XF performance. :D

Ah, controversial was the word I was looking for... 'Peacock' is my favourite on the album  but it would not be half as catchy without the 'cock' parts LOL. 'Let me see your pea pea' would sound just as dirty as well

An XF performance would be so ideal, this deserves to smash so much. The video is directed by the same director who did Pink's 'So What' so it should be great! :D
