Poor Joe. The song, and his rendition isn't that bad ... quite cheerful to be honest. I mean ... I know Rob and Gary must have been a bit embarrassed to be beaten by Cee Lo on iTunes all week (and then the chart proper) ... but at least F*ck You is a great song. But for Joe to be beaten by this pile of sh/te (and it is sh/te) ... how shameful!

Love how bruno mars is comfortably #1! (i know maybe #3 with multiple cee-lo & duck sauce) but happy it has the #1 spot. :)

Oh dear for joe, i did say leon jackson..

I was thinking why the new Madcon song is so familiar for me, and then I remembered about another song.

Here is Madcon 'Freaky Like Me'

And here is New Kids on the Block 'New Service' :P

Poor Joe people are already deciding his fate, even before sales info and album sales.

Do you really think he's going to sell albums? If it was a big hit he would, yeah, or at least as well as Alexandra did, but off an underperforming single he has no chance. 50k first week tops.

Although you're right, that's it not the end of the world and it shouldn't mean his career is over. But when you look at how Simon dropped Leon Jackson because he "only" got to #3 single and #4 album then you can hardly blame people... hopefully he doesn't though and they get a new single out ready for early 2011 to save the album which is going to bomb down IMO. Joe is better than Leon and has some potential - just no more god damn cheese.

I think Leon was dropped because his album barely limped past 100k in total (if that), even Same Difference outsold him.

I guess it remains to be seen what Joe's cumulative album total will be, surely more than that at least.

Joe's physicals may be good though.

I can imagine him having mass granny appeal, those who typically would buy a physical over downloading off itunes.

Extremely tired of that Bruno Mars song. It's Airplanes 2.0 in terms of social network quote/referencing.

Well what did Simon expect with one underperforming single? If that's why Leon was dropped then I guess Joe will be gone too 'cos his album won't sell much more than that in the initial weeks. I'd be shocked if he sold more than about 150k by the end of the year.

Really I think Simon needs a bit more patience and to realise that not every album is going to be a Leona or Susan Boyle straight away.

Duck Sauce's highest version now has a decent lead over Joe, not sure if it's got any closer to #1 though.

Well I hate to say it, but for his music style and his target fanbase, when he came out of the closet it was the beginning of the end of him. Maybe a new music direction is needed. Will Young got stronger after he came out, probably because his music was good.
All you people complaining that Joe isn't doing so well should be more grateful that he's in The Top.3 at least unlike The Ting Tings : :snif: :snif: :( I've been waiting 2 years for that song to be succesful and all it gets is Top 40 you've only waited since Xmas for it to do well! Wonder if he woulda got that Xmas No.1 even if RATM campaign wasn't on as anyone that hated RATM bought The Climb. Not sure really but this will be so painful to watch if he doesn't get the No.1 single or album and possibly getting backstabbed by Simon. He could be skating on thin ice right now :( Kinda hope for his sake and loads of other hardocre fans (I have seen those tweeny twiterrers!) that he does get No.1, its kinda catchy too but a lil bit too cheesy. Did he mime on the show I wasn't concentrating apparently he did :l

I'd have thought he'd have no chance of the #1 album, I think he's releasing the same week as Kings Of Leon.

It is a shame that he did not release a ballad but he did say in an interview that they were going down that route but Ambitions was picked as the lead single so they decided to make the album more uptempo.I think Joes voice is so much better at ballads but Syco seem to be avoiding ballads like the plague now.

Any other record company and I would have some faith that they could still do something for him but Syco are hopeless.

Actually... take that back, it's the week after.

Joe is a really nice guy, and an amazing singer, but to be fair, he should've expected this. The song has just barely been promoted, if you compare it to what Bad Boys got. Pretty much all its got is an X Factor performance (which is a big thing, to be fair). I can't think of anything else he's done.

His radio airplay has been absolutely dire, and I think radio airplay is one of the main components in making a hit.

Not to mention, the song is a cover. I have no problems with covers, but it's just what the Joe haters want, and he's made himself very easy to criticize.

I've not heard Pixie, Michael Buble or the Ting Tings on the radio either, to be fair, so it's not just Joe. The only new entry I've heard if Barbra Streisand, which I've been hearing for about a month on the radio now. Such a tune though! I'd love it to go to #1.

But just his peaks will be crap, doesn't necessarily mean his sales will be.

I predict Joe will get good first week sales for his album and single but be quite front-loaded with both, I cant see him getting number 1 in the albums as KOL are out that week, I will eat my socks if he beats them, its strange how Olly got straight to number 1 despite Katy Perry's release and Joe's is struggling against what should not have been a lot of competition

Just realised Muse- Feeling Good has re-entered the top 100 after that advert ( at both) if only that 'Yeo Valley' song was available to download :kink:

Well Bruno Mars sold circa ~60k last week. If we assume his sales are fairly steady... given the fact he has comfortably outsold Joe in the first 48 hours of the chart week by about 25% (very rough guess, cba to work it out properly), so if things stay as they are now, then we can quite fairly conclude that Joe is definitely not going to sell more than 50k of Ambitions this week. ;)
