The X Factor has almost been like Top Of The Pops tonight; 14 million people watching and three current chart hits all being performed by contestants - this can be emphasised by Matt performing 'Just The Way You Are' and now Bruno Mars has a big lead on iTunes.

Just noticed, the wanted single is 38 on itunes albums, and n-dubz are 100.. i think either the wanted or barbra streisand or even maybe bruno mars are going to be no.1 next week

Yeah, I want Diana to get it, or Duck Sauce. I don't like The Wanted's song much, definitey don't want Cee-Lo to get it again, and I'd prefer Bruno Mars not to return to #1.

I can't see anything but The Wanted at #1 by tomorrow, their fanbase is HUGE.

Indeed. Some people are mixing up what they want with what will actually happen.

 

That said, with the size of Bruno's bar at the moment, he may be able to hold them off for the first 24 hours. But The Wanted will undoubtedly be #1 by Monday evening at the latest.

now let's just hope diana doesn't follow the same route as the ting tings - high debut in the chart but then stalls in the lower area of the chart. although I think the x factor performance will launch it up into the top 20 if that were to happen anyhow.

I agree. The Wanted has a larger fanbase now, and the song has been promoted well. It should get to #1.

THis is one of my pet peeves though - where a song goes to #1 spimply through sales to testosterone/oestrogen pumped teens, regardless of musical merit.

 

Fortunately though, I don't think #1 is guaranteed : since ATL was their first single, it was presumably considered the strongest - therefore the follow-up should by definition be likely to do less well.
