YOU ARE ALL WRONG.

tbf, no one liked Boom Boom Pow when it first premiered. Then look what happened :o

No one liked Boom Boom Pow when it first premiered, but I didn't outright hate it. Plus, the sample/reinterpolation is AWFUL.

I actually pretty much loved 'Boom Boom Pow' when it premiered. This on the other hand...

The only bit I like is the 'dirty bit' parts and the backing music (?). HATE the sample. Awful awful awful.

This really is f***ing AWFUL!

Its like We Speak No Americano mixed with some iconic 80's track that you only enjoy when you're PISSED anyway!

The Time of My Life sample is cringeworthy. Overall - listenable. And I don't get the dubstep comparisons. Dubstep has a bit different bassline, more "shaky". This song is just electro. Like "Riverside", for example.

The Time song is just absolute garbage, it's crappier than the crappest $h!t.

I liked Boom Boom Pow on the very first listen so it's definitely not the same thing as that. I don't think I will like this tbh :(. It's just..... baddddddd.

The fact I dislike the original anyway due to overcheeseissues won't really help this one out. It's kindah just like another sample-heavy dance song.

When's Fergie's solo effort coming out?

This is getting a much better initial reception than Boom Boom Pow did (you can check the inital Boom Boom Pow thread in the archives if you want), so it's certainly promising.

All of the 5 singles from the E.N.D used samples (well, Boom Boom Pow didn't strictly, but it had almost the same beat as Planet Rock at parts), so this is no difference on that front, just that the sample here is more obvious.

Also, this doesn't really sound like dubstep to a notable degree. Not to mention, dubstep is much bigger in the UK than in the US.

I love the chorus too. It's amazing. They could've used different lyrics, but if they had, then in a few weeks, someone would discover that it sound a lot like "The Time of My Life", and then it would be yet another scandel, and everybody would criticize the Black Eyed Peas for trying to hide it. You can't really claim they're trying to hide the use of the sample now.

Also, anybody think the instrumental from the part of the song from 3:48 onwards (basically, the final chorus) sounds EXACTLY like Can't Get You Out of My Head by Kylie Minogue?

On the other hand, it also sounds like 3 Words by Cheryl Cole, but I think Will.i.am made that track, so he could say he got it from there.

Also, I know for a fact now that Heart FM won't be supporting this song. :(

This is silly. I mean sampling a (terrible) Dirty Dancing song and it's a bit too similar to BBP (which is not exactly a thing I usually complain but this is just not right IMO). They are definitely rushing the new album which is a shame.

Why are they releasing again so soon? They took years between their other albums! I Gotta Feeling is still in the top 100!
I'm already pretty bored of this now. I'm also not as excited for the album as I was before i heard this... :(

They'll be in London on December 4 to perform at the Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball

Oh dear, what have they done?! Their last era was without a doubt in my mind, brilliant! This song however, is awful in comparison! I don't see it being a big hit, that's probably because it's different from everything else atm though. It probably will end up being called 'the new sound of 2011' though...

EDIT: Now, after a few more listens of the song it's not as bad as I made it out to be, but it's still not as good as some songs from 'The E.N.D'

Now, I think this is actually not bad now. It's sooo catchy now! But I still feel this is a bit rushed (and the sampled track is just really not good). Maybe I'll get used to it as I feel this is not a shower.
