December 2, 201014 yr Actually, yes, that is a valid point. It is rather a long time since the last task, so long in fact that I can't even remember what it was...
December 2, 201014 yr The only good reason to switch is to meet new people, but I like the Wafflers (except Bray and his bloody grammar fetish) Plus, I don't know many people outside of BW that would want to be in the same team as me :heehee: A gramar fetish is a good thing :D
December 3, 201014 yr this, i love the privacy of our group of people and how we confide in each other, i think we should have a private forum just for us permamently. and tbh, i can't get enthusiastic having to start again, and don't really have a great deal of spare time anymore, so cba to join a new team, i'd stay if it was the same team cos were awesomes, but i have nothing to gain from a team switch up. Exactly! Our forum is a fantastic place to go for advice, and i'd hate to lose that connection with some people. See, this is exactly why the teams need a switch up. People are already branching themselves off from the rest of the forum. It's good that you grew so close to your team, but this "if I can't be with the same people, there's no point" attitude is silly. Your team mates are still members of Buzzjack, you can continue talking to them in the Lounge and other areas of the site. I hate to say it, but the privacy will probably be lost. I believe the forums will be archived for everyone to see.

December 3, 201014 yr I will concede that Chris' criticism of the lack of the tasks is quite fair. I will admit that us mods were pretty useless in the final month. All I can say is it is something that will most definitely be worked on.

Well say that then, because that's not what your post read like. You said you don't have a great deal of spare time and that you'd have stayed if it was the same people. Now you're complaining that there wasn't enough to do. It just seems like another case of Chris being negative. I think we perhaps lacked foresight with the tasks. I think Family Fortunes was meant to be like the WILTY task, but it was such a success that it became a weekly thing. We thought that was a weekly task but, evidently, people want more. I didn't run one myself, but it seems like the hosting/compiling is a lot of work so to say you "only" got Family Fortunes is a bit ungrateful. But I'm sure this will be taken on board. Plenty of 'regular members' offered to host a round last time, perhaps we'll take them up on those offers to devote more time to coming up with other tasks. I'm sure we'd be welcome to take suggestons, if anyone has any ideas of tasks we could realistically do?

Sorry if I don't see your comments as you being constructive. You say "have fun never improving" as if we aren't already looking for ways to improve? The whole reason we're doing a reset is because we realised the teams were getting stale and we need to shake things up. We're doing that, we're thinking of ideas, and are open to receive any suggestions on tasks/how to make it more fun. (not "I didn't enjoy teams. I have no interest in joining again.") I still object to Family Fortunes not being a 'real task', I'm sure it took them just as much (if not more) effort to host than any of the 'proper' tasks. I'm not being defensive of myself, I'm criticising your attitude. If anything, I'm defending the others because their efforts are being ignored. It's especially funny coming from you, given your over the top "should I even bother?" attitude when you didn't feel your WILTY efforts were being appreciated.

It's especially funny coming from you, given your over the top "should I even bother?" attitude when you didn't feel your WILTY efforts were being appreciated. Well to be fair, i wasnt constructivly criticising to start with until you had a go at me out of the blue for my attitude, which is a bit rich coming from one of the people who is supposed to be organising this yet has probaly contributed less than what i have to teams, and i'm not even an organiser of it. as for the "have fun never improving bit" that was you claiming that it was "just another negative chris" post, which is where i said actually i'm not being negative, i'm criticising so it would help you improve, but as you clearly don't give a $h!t about what me, someone who posts in the lounge a lot, someone who is your audience for this, should you not be listening to me rather than bitching about me being negative, i don't go on to buzzjack and think "i know i'll post a negative post now", maybe i'm a pretty cynical person yes, but i'm not negative for negative sake, quite simply, i won't f***ing bother contributing again, suggesting anything, or taking part again as all i do is just to f***ing negative for you, it's becoming clearer more than more that certain attitudes of certain lounge mods just make me, not want to post on buzzjack at all, which is supposed to be the opposite of what you are meant to be trying to achieve, some people arent as outspoken as me, and i actually regularly get various people who tell me they feel the same way, but whatever, clearly i'm just puposely being negative because i've got nothing else to do and not just telling you stuff that you should take on board. as i said in my last post (maybe you failed to actually read that), i understand that FF takes a fair bit of effort, but theres 4 lounge mods, Slick, and a few GM's that also took part last time, and offers from other members to do it, it takes one person a week, doing a task a week takes 1 person, so between 5 organisers, other GM's helping, general members willing to contribute it is'nt really asking loads is it, sorry if 2 people doing stuff for one week is too much for you guys to handle. and if FF was intended to be a soul task, pretty boring doing one task for 2-3 months, i know people enjoyed it, but if thats going to be a main task, then at least change things up a bit and not do one task that takes 3 months. (THIS IS CRITICISM, IN CASE YOU THINK IM BEING NEGATIVE FOR THE SAKE OF IT, BECAUSE THAT'S ALL I SIGN ONTO BUZZJACK TO DO).
December 3, 201014 yr On the subject of forums that Aaron moderates oh so actively, you disappeared from BJSC at the break. Now that it's back there is a lot more obscure and unknown entries, and god forbid i'm actually missing the Camdonia entry even if i never vote for it

December 3, 201014 yr WILTY was great fun and had the benefit of being relatively difficult to be spoilt by Google. I've been thinking of some ideas for quizzes with questions that can't be Googled instantly. However, like WILTY, they would still be dependent on people being online for a "live" event. FF dpes take a fair bit of time to run which means it does need a different host each round. No doubt each host has had their own method of collating the results and would be happy to pass on some tips. I would certainly recommend hosts to make sure they have time between the deadline for entries and the results. Ideally, leave enough time to collate the results and write your commentary so it just becomes a cut and paste job every 15-20 minutes or so.
December 4, 201014 yr I can confirm that FF actually does take a $h!tLOAD of time to do. I spent pretty much an entire evening sorting the last round. As far as methods of collating results goes, Suedehead's was probably the fairest. Chris; you HAVE been unduly negative at times, which is partly why you're not always taken as seriously as you'd like. On this one particular issue though, I do think you actually have a point though.
